Arson🔥

It’s big handsome boy has been hard at work here building his neutrality around other dogs, people and life in general. Between the rain and sun we’ve been out working together to give him clarity in his busy baby brain. Shepherds often struggle with reactivity and over arousal. These dogs have been bred to be hyper aware of their environments to point out the things that may stick out. While this is a desirable treat it also has its down side like being more prone to reactivity and hyper awareness. It’s our job to teach them how to balance that out to let them know when it’s go time and when it’s settle time. Arson has been doing a frantic job learning to settle him down and not to be in every dogs business. He’s young and getting the right steps he needs to set him up for success into his adulthood. We are so proud of him so far can’t wait to see more from this big guy!

We specialize and have a great understanding of how and why breeds like shepherds function if you’re looking for help with your shepherd or power breed let us know. We’d love to help!

Welcome Arson🔥 to the Zealous K9 club!

This handsome boy is here for our board and train program. Arson is a young full of big feelings German shepherd! While he is here we will be helping him sort out his feelings around dogs to build neutrality. While also finding more comfort around people engaging with him. He has a list of future big goals for training and dog sports. So we will be also working on his drive channeling, arousal control and kept engagement. We are so excited for this guys progress and can’t wait to share it with you! Stay tuned for more of this incredible dude!

Did you know we specialize in shepherds and sporting/working dogs! We love being able to help handlers and their dogs become rockstar teams. We understand the nuance and skills it takes to owning a high drive working bred dog with goals that might differ from your average pet. It can be a challenge in finding your work and life balance. If you have a shepherd you’d like to do more with but don’t know where to start? Let us know we’d love to help!

Welcome Oscar and Mayer the weeny operation!🌭

These two boys have been spending sometime here at Zealous K9 over the last week. These two unfortunately had a bit of a scuffle together and need some help finding balance within their home again. We always make sure to look at each dog individually even when issues arise with each other. Individual needs and issues need to be dealt with before working back together again. A simple miscommunication on either side can end in frustration. Building impulse control, tolerance and boundaries these boys will be enjoying a more peaceful and fulfilling life together once again! They have been working incredibly hard and can’t wait to see how this week progresses with them!

If you’re looking for help for your multi dog home we got you covered! Send us a message we’d love to chat!

Spent part of today helping out another trainer with one of her own dogs.

When you spend all day working client dogs, solving other people's problems, and coaching other handlers, sometimes it's hard to look at your own dog objectively. Sometimes it's hard to find the motivation.

Having another set of eyes, another handler, or just someone you trust to bounce ideas off of can make all the difference.

The best trainers I know aren't the ones who pretend they have all the answers. They're the ones who build a community, ask for help when they need it, and are willing to help others when they're asked.

Dog training doesn't have to be a solo sport. We all get further when we stop treating each other like competition and start acting like teammates.

Shout out to some local trainers who I've had in my corner to help when I've needed Concise K9 Quest K9 UK9BG PSA CLUB Zealous K9 Training

Luke🐛and Ellie🦋

These two cuties came all the way from Lloyd today for their start into E-collar training. With changes in life comes changes to training. These two have been spending time in the country and it is important to keep them safe. We introduced the ecollar to have as a back up in case of wild life on the property.

These two both have an incredible amount of training put into them. Ellie has been working with me since she was a puppy, she’s now four! The lengths she has come is incredible! Ellie as a puppy was fearful, reactive, and full of spice. You couldn’t even look at her without her being upset. Now Ellie can make new friends, regulate her emotions, compete in dog sports and live life confident and happy! Her amazing mom has put the work in and I’m so beyond proud of how far she’s come!

Luke her big brother is here for the fun of life. He’s worked through some dog reactivity in his teenager months but has worked beautifully out of it into his adulthood. Turning into quite the handsome man.

I’m always incredibly grateful for my clients in trusting me to guide them over the years. It means the world to me watch you and your dogs become a team in finding your success in training!

Luffy⚡️

I simply can’t say enough wonderful things about this sweet boy! He has finished up his last session of his one on one program. Luffy has come leaps and bounds in his skills on becoming a well rounded guy. He was quite the wild boy when I first met him. Today he’s able to keep himself focused and right on task. Along side his training I’ve been able to watch him start to mature and see bits of the future dog he will become in adulthood. This teenage window of time can be the hardest to tackle but with the right skills and support the hard work is worth it. Truly such an incredible little golden. I can’t wait to see all the adventures and life he will get to enjoy! There is more yet to come!

My personal girl Zooula also got to assist on his last lesson. You will see lots of her when training as she is safe and neutral to help guide your dog into their own neutrality!

If you have any questions or interest in our wonderful programs. Each out we’d love to help!
