🐾🎄Second Annual Online Auction Fundraiser 2026

We are in the process of planning our second annual Online Auction Fundraiser for the Christmas season and we're looking for donations of new items, gift cards, gift baskets, artwork, services, experiences, etc. The auction start date is November 26th. If your business, coworker group, friend group, family group, etc, would like to donate to our cause please send us an email. Items of all values are gratefully accepted. All items will be new with the exception of a few highly collectible vintage items in excellent condition. We have another vintage Coach bag this year!

Our sweet old boy Nubbin had severe stomatitis. It was so bad that he required very urgent surgery to remove all of his teeth and several roots that remained from broken teeth. He had his surgery last week and is like a whole new cat already. The pain from stomatitis can be so bad that they feel better immediately after surgery even with all the freshly cut and sutured gums. A full mouth extraction costs approximately $2000 so this is just one of the many medical expenses that we're hoping to raise funds for with our current 50/50 raffle. Every ticket purchased helps cats like Nubbin to live the life that they deserve. Please share with your friends, family, neighbours, coworkers, and even strangers. The more tickets sold, the more cats we can help, and the bigger the prize for one very lucky winner.

We are so grateful to Kinsol Veterinary Clinic for all of the expert and compassionate care they provide for our cats. Not only do they go above and beyond for all of the animals they care for, they have now taken it upon themselves to have a fundraiser for our boy Bobby. He really is their boy too. When he's not with me he's with one of their vets or techs getting the royal treatment.

Sharpie came into our care a few days ago in very rough shape. She was already spayed but she has clearly been fending for herself for a long time now. Fortunately she ended up at one of our small colony sites and the very caring feeder recognized her immediate need for help. We knew her mouth was going to be bad from the terrible smell but it was even worse than we thought. This poor girl has severe dental disease with several teeth missing but many roots still remaining with gums grown over them. It's going to be a major full mouth extraction surgery in her near future. Unfortunately her lungs are not in good shape due to lungworm so we will treat her for that first and then allow the lungs to heal for a while before she'll be safe to go under anesthetic. In the meantime she'll get pain medication as needed and will only be eating soft food. She's quite happy about the soft food part and has let us know that her favourite food is the Kirkland brand paté soft food that comes from Costco. If any Costco shoppers out there would like to help us keep Sharpie well stocked in soft food for her painful mouth she is requesting either chicken or salmon flavoured. It can take as long as two months or more for the lungs to heal from lungworm so she's going to need a lot of soft food!
One of the vet techs also discovered old healed over wounds on her back and side that look like they were originally puncture wounds that healed oddly leaving an open hole so those were cleaned up and excised today too. The placement of the injuries and the puncture wound very clearly look like she was picked up and bitten by a large dog at some point. To say this poor girl has lived a rough life is a major understatement. But we will show her what the good life is from now on. She's already accepting careful and respectful pats so we know she's already well on her way to retiring into beloved pet life.

It might seem weird to post a picture of a used litter box but this is a huge step forward in Bobby's recovery and we're very proud of him. Up until now we have been helping Bobby with his toileting by manually expressing his bladder and bowels. We could feel that he had some muscle control over these functions but his brain and body weren't quite connecting enough yet to let him do these functions independently. Until now! Bobby has p*ed independently in his box a couple times over the past week or so. But last night he fully and independently used his big boy litter box to p*e and poo entirely on his own!! While we could have found Bobby an adopter who would help him with these functions for the rest of his life, it does make it better for Bobby and any caregiver that he can do it all on his own.

❤️ Bobby ❤️

It's been just over a month since Bobby came into our care after suffering a traumatic accident that left him paralyzed. We believe the he was picked up and dropped by a smaller bird of prey resulting in two fractured vertebrae in his neck. The person who found him while out hiking reached out for help right away and the moment I saw him in person he was in such rough shape that I thought I was rushing him to our vet for an emergency euthanasia. Fortunately our vet who saw him that day recognized that the paralysis could be a temporary condition and suggested we could give him a bit of time before making any big decisions. We are all very grateful to Dr Forbes for making that call and getting him stable and comfortable enough that we could bring him home to start the journey of his recovery. Bobby has made incredible progress almost every single day of this past month. He went from laying on his side and barely able to lift his head to moving each limb independently to sitting up on his own to walking and even running in that short amount of time. There have been a couple of set backs along the way but Team Bobby have stepped up in a big way for this tiny little guy and have given him the chance to be a happy and much beloved pet one day. Bobby will still need specialized surgery with a neurosurgeon to remove the bone fragment from his vertebral canal. But for now we will give him time for the fractures to heal and continue helping him become more independent so he'll be big and strong for surgery day.

We are looking for a long term foster home for our boy Party Marty while he does his treatment for FIP. This could be up to three months, or more. He is social with other cats but ideally there will be no other cats in the home. We do think he might be okay with a dog if introductions are done slowly and carefully. Marty is very friendly and is basically the life of the party, which is how he got his name. Marty is also recovering from living on the streets but he had a colony feeder who loves him very much and spent a lot of time socializing him so he's 100% tame and really loves people. He just needs some regular good nutrition and basic tlc, along with his FIP meds, to get him feeling good. Marty will need to be within a reasonable driving distance to Kinsol Vet for semi regular check-ups and blood tests. He will be pretty easy to give his meds to but his foster person should have enough experience to be confident giving liquid oral medication and also aware enough to monitor any changes in his health, good or bad. We will supply all food, litter, and medication, but we would hope to have a foster who can bring Marty to his vet appointments when needed. Please EMAIL ONLY for inquiries. [email protected]

The cost of treating FIP is not cheap but without the medication FIP is considered 100% fatal. The meds offer a more than 90% cure rate so it is worth the cost. Our last FIP cat was well over $1000. I'll know the actual price for Marty's first round of meds tomorrow when they're shipped from Ontario. If you're able to help we truly can't do this without our supporters. BOTTLE DRIVE REMINDER🧃🍾🐾

We've been having our busiest year ever and that means bigger vet bills than ever. We could really use your help! This week we had one cat diagnosed with FIP and the treatment for that is very expensive. Plus another cat who was suffering horribly from stomatitis had a full mouth extraction, which is not a cheap surgery! Plus spays and neuters and blood tests and Bobby's medication, and on and on.
Please save your empties for us and come say hi on bottle drive day. We'll do all the sorting and counting for you! All refundables are accepted, including milk containers of all types.

New volunteers are always welcome too!

Meet Orville and Ping Pong. Two brothers. One very special bond.

Although their lives began with a struggle to survive some of the worst living conditions a kitten could possibly face, these two have overcome it all and are ready to leave the past behind!

At just 5.5 months old, Orville and Ping Pong are eager to find their forever home, and these handsome little tuxedo boys come as a package deal! Whether they’re snuggled up for a nap or keeping each other entertained, these two are happiest when they’re together.

💕 Ping Pong is the self appointed president of the welcoming committee! Outgoing, incredibly affectionate, and a shameless attention hog, he thinks nothing of sitting on his brother’s head to ensure he’s the only one you can see at cuddle time. If there’s love being handed out, you can bet Ping Pong will be first in line!

🐾 Orville is his slightly more reserved sidekick. He was the last kitten in the litter to be caught, so he’s still a little shy at first. Orville prefers to observe the action before jumping in, but with his confident brother leading the way, he’s quickly discovering that humans, cuddles, and being the centre of attention (when Ping Pong allows it) aren’t so bad after all!

Together, these two are the perfect balance. Ping Pong brings the confidence, Orville brings the sweetness, and together they bring a whole lot of love (and probably a little mischief!).

Both boys are neutered, vaccinated, parasite treated, tattooed, and microchipped.

They would do well with another feline in the household, older, respectful children, and likely even a well behaved dog with proper introductions.

An application approval and home visit are required for adoption.
