Got a pic of all 6 leaches. Apparently their name is Kyle according to the person we got them from at the Manitoba Children's Museum . Lol We'll be moving them into a larger planted tank shortly.

Prairie Exotics is looking for an enthusiastic Outreach Educator to join our team in Calgary! If you have a passion for wildlife, love engaging with the community and want a fun, flexible job, this is for you.

The Role:
-Must be comfortable working with all types of animals and people of all ages
-Hours depend on event bookings, mainly taking place on weekends
-Drive to event bookings and educate the public
-Animal experience is an asset, but full training is provided!

Requirements:
-18+ years old
-Clean driving record and your own reliable vehicle

Compensation: $20/hour plus travel, paid weekly

We got an interesting surrender yesterday from our friends at the Manitoba Children's Museum. Last year they had a travelling exhibit called Attack of the Bloodsuckers featuring these 6 leeches (Hirudo Verbana or H. Medecinal). They no longer needed them and wanted to find them a good home as they can't be released in the wild. Kenzi is very excited for these guys!

We picked up an interesting surrender today! The Manitoba Children's Museum had a traveling exhibit called Attack of the Bloodsuckers which featured these 6 leeches (Hirudo Verbana or H. Medecinal). Now that the exhibit ended they needed to find a new home for their little friends. Kenzi is very excited for these guys!

Our awesome Animal Club returns this September to the Ste-Ste-Geneviève Community Centre! Designed for kids ages 6–14, each session features an interactive, hands-on critter presentation followed by fun activities and themed crafts.

Location & Kickoff Dates:
Ste-Geneviève Community Centre
Schedule: 2nd Thursday of the month
First Session: Thursday, September 10th | 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM

Pricing & Details:
Ages: 6 to 14
Drop-in: $15 / session (at the door)
Full Year Pass: $100 for the year (just $10 / session!)
Payment Accepted: Cash, Debit/Credit and E-Transfer

I'm so glad Littlefoot was able to enjoy basking in the sun and swimming in his big pond this summer. I'm sad it's such a short time but he'll be moving back inside for winter into his new larger pond!
