🚗🐾 THE CAR IS BOOKED!!! JAKE & BUGSY ARE GOING HOME! 🐾🚗

As most of you know, we’ve had two pretty special temporary workers hanging around GTDAB — Jake & Bugsy, better known around here as Agent Nomad & Agent Compass. ❤️

Jake has been working with us at GTDAB, as well as picking up other work around town, saving everything he can toward renting a car and making the LONG trip home.

And we are SO HAPPY to finally announce…

🎉 HE HAS THE CAR BOOKED! 🎉

Monday, Jake and Bugsy officially start their journey home — all the way from Dryden to Creston, BC!

Before they leave, we want to make one final push to help these two cover the cost of that long drive.

⛽ If anyone has a few dollars to spare for gas, would like to donate a gas card, or wants to contribute toward one, it would mean so much.

If you send money toward fuel, we can put it directly onto a gas card for them. You’re also more than welcome to stop by GTDAB and drop off a gas card or contribution for Jake and Bugsy before they leave Monday.

❤️ And we really want to say something about Jake...

This guy has WORKED for this.

He has worked incredibly hard while he’s been here. He’s kind, modest, respectful, and absolutely amazing with dogs — whether they’re 10 pounds or 100.

He came here temporarily as Agent Nomad, but he very quickly became part of our GTDAB crew.

And then, of course, there’s Bugsy. 😂❤️

🐾 Bugsy is officially a GTDAB Mascot & Demo Dog!

His mellow temperament and incredible social skills have made him such a pleasure to have around. He’s been a wonderful example of what a stable, social dog can look like.

He’s loyal, affectionate, ridiculously lovable, and has happily made himself at home with our crew.

We are going to miss BOTH of these guys more than we expected. 😭

Thank you to everyone who has already helped them along the way — whether you offered work, encouragement, a donation, or simply made them feel welcome while they were here.

We’re almost there. Now we just need to help Agent Nomad & Agent Compass complete their final mission:

🐾 WICKED ENERGY FROM THESE TWO TODAY! 😂💨

Finnegan & Pippin were absolutely tearing it up today! Chase, switch directions, catch me if you can, and REPEAT. 😂

But all that fun is also a great opportunity to work on social skills! Finnegan is learning that good play isn't just about GO GO GO — it's also about reading his buddy, taking breaks, disengaging when asked, and bringing that excitement level back down before jumping into the fun again.

Pippin was more than happy to help make today's lesson a FAST one. 🤣🐕💨

Give The Dog-A-Bone offers walking services designed for dogs who need more than someone simply holding the other end of the leash!

🏘️ Neighborhood Walks
Real-world walking practice around town, focusing on connection, loose-leash skills, manners and everyday distractions.

🌲 Trail Walks
More room to move, sniff and explore! Great for physical exercise, mental enrichment and decompression while still reinforcing good leash habits.

🥾 TrailMix Walks
The best of both worlds! A combination of neighbourhood walking and trail adventure for dogs who benefit from structured practice AND time to sniff, explore and decompress.

💥 ABOUT OUR PRICING:
Our posted standard prices are for dogs who are currently learning, pull on leash, need training support, or don't yet have reliable loose-leash skills.

Already have a great little walking partner? 👀

Dogs who already walk nicely on leash OR have graduated from one of our GTDAB training programs qualify for discounted walking rates! 🎓🐕

When we're teaching your dog while we're walking them, you're getting more than exercise ... you're getting continued training, reinforcement and consistency.

Once we've done the hard work and your dog no longer needs that level of training support, your price should reflect that too. ❤️

⚠️ SIDE NOTE:
If your dog needs specific foundation skills before they're ready to take their training outdoors, an indoor leash-training program may be recommended first. This allows us to build the communication, connection and basic leash skills your dog needs in a controlled environment before adding real-world distractions.

🔥 LULU… LOOK AT YOU GO! 👑🐾

THIS is the Lulu I’ve been waiting to see.

If you’ve been following Agent Queen High’s journey, you know her leash biting and frustration didn’t just magically disappear. In fact, when we stopped allowing that old behaviour to work, Lulu hit us with a pretty impressive extinction burst — “Oh, that didn’t work? Fine. I’ll try it HARDER.” 😂

But watching this video now, what stands out to me is how much quieter her brain looks.

She’s moving forward. She’s looking around and taking in her environment. The leash is actually able to just be a leash instead of becoming the entire focus of the walk. She can stop, observe, process, and then carry on.

THAT is progress. ❤️

We finally seem to be coming through the majority of that extinction burst, and all those repetitions of staying consistent instead of giving in to the old pattern are starting to show.

This doesn't mean Lulu will never have another rough moment. Behaviour change isn't that tidy. But compared to where this girl started?

Holy crap. 👏

This is exactly why we didn't quit when things temporarily looked worse. We stayed the course, gave her clearer alternatives, worked on confidence and connection, and let her discover that there is another way to handle all that excitement and frustration.

👑 Agent Queen High isn't fighting her way through the walk anymore. She's starting to actually EXPERIENCE it.

And Lulu… you are doing freaking AWESOME. ❤️🐾
