Dear Clients,

A rabies-positive bat was recently identified in Campbell River, so we wanted to remind our community to take precautions.

If your pet has any contact with a bat, contact your veterinarian promptly. If you or someone in your household has direct contact with a bat, contact a healthcare provider as soon as possible. Bites and scratches can be very small and easy to miss.

🌊☀️ CVC SUMMER SAFETY: WATER INTOXICATION 🐾

Summer means swimming, splashing, and endless games of fetch! But did you know that too much water can actually be dangerous for dogs? 💦

Water intoxication is uncommon, but can happen when dogs swallow excessive amounts of water while swimming or repeatedly retrieving toys.

🐾 Take regular breaks
💦 Limit repetitive water retrieval
👀 Keep an eye out for unusual behaviour
