🐇☔ Victoria VIRBA Lawn Show Recap ☀️🐇
We managed to make it down to Victoria for the VIRBA Lawn Show this weekend! No huge wins for us this time around, but it was great to get out, see everyone, and spend the day doing what we love.
Our junior show team is continuing to grow out, and while they still have some maturing to do, I’m really proud of how they’re coming along. There was definitely enough competition to make me sweat a little, which is always exciting and keeps things interesting!
I was especially stoked to see so many Netherland Dwarfs on the table. Even better, all of the rabbits we were competing against were actually rabbits that originated from Dodge Minis Cumberland! It was incredibly helpful to hear Judge: Callie Weber go through each rabbit, explaining their strengths and areas for improvement. As a breeder, that kind of feedback is invaluable and helps guide future breeding and show decisions.
A huge congratulations to DCM’s Chester on earning his second leg win and Best of Breed! 🎉🐰 This handsome little guy is co-owned by Kathy and myself, and we’re incredibly proud of how he’s developing.
Now it’s time for a more relaxed summer while we continue working with our youngsters and preparing for the fall show season. We’re hopeful that a few of these promising buns will really shine when the cooler-weather shows roll around.
The day brought plenty of rain, a little bit of sunshine, and I was also battling the leftovers of a head cold, but we still managed to enjoy ourselves and snap a few photos along the way.
Here are some photos from the day! 📸🐰❤️
Congratulations to all the exhibitors and winners, and thank you to VIRBA for putting on another great event!
