Yesterday night, I lost one of my most favourite conures.

His mom contacted me to let me know. My heart is broken.

Zazu was one of those birds who always waited to come to me. He absolutely loved my veggie mix and made me feel so proud when I saw his empty bowl every morning. His happy sounds in the morning always made my day.

The second he was in my home, Zazu was my bird.

He was so sweet to my daughter Maya and loved to hang out with Pepper and Pixie.

I will miss you so much, Zazu. You will always have a special place in my heart and at BirdieBnB.

🦜 Why are toys SO important for our birds?🧸

Let's think about it like this...

When we buy a new toy for our kid, they need us to show them how to play with it at first. Eventually they learn on their own — but they STILL love it most when we sit and play with them for those 10-15 minutes, right? That moment means everything to them. ❤️

Birds are no different!

At first, they might not understand a new toy. It's our job to teach them. Slowly, they start exploring, chewing, and playing. And just like kids, they want YOU to be part of their playtime.

That 5 minutes you spend playing with them builds so much more than just fun — it builds TRUST, LOVE, and an unbreakable BOND. Your bird knows that time is just for them. And trust me, they appreciate it more than you’ll ever know. ✨

We just wrapped up a wonderful Budgie Week!
Even with the heat wave outside, our little guests stayed cool and happy indoors.
They made new friends, socialized so well, and each one of them learned something new.

Thank you to all the amazing parents for trusting us. Watching them chirp, play, and bond made this week extra special.
