When we started sharing life at Living the Dream Stables in 2024, we never imagined that one day 10,000 people would be following along on this journey with us.

Some of you have been here since the very beginning. You’ve celebrated the highs with us, supported us through the challenges, and cheered on every milestone along the way. Others joined for the racing, the farm life, or more recently through Benny’s journey.

No matter when you found us, we’re grateful that you did.

Every like, comment, share, message, and word of encouragement has helped shape Living the Dream into what it is today and you’ve reminded us time and time again why we love sharing this life.

Most importantly, thank you for living our dream with us.

We’re celebrating this milestone all week long with some special memories, behind-the-scenes moments, and a few surprises along the way!

Invite your friends to join the journey and tag someone in the comments who you think would love to be part of the fun.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of the Living the Dream family. Here’s to the next chapter of this journey, together. ❤️🐴

A few weeks back, we asked for barn name suggestions for our Shanghai Phil filly out of Miss Kabana.

After lots of thought, we’re excited to finally share that her barn name is Sammy. ❤️

Some names just feel right, and this one carries a story close to our hearts.

My Aunt Cynthia Lynch and Uncle Donald Lynch have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. They babysat me from the time I was just 14 months old, and their home was a place where so many childhood memories were made. Through all those years, there was one constant by their side — their dog, Sammy.

He was there for countless milestones, celebrations, ordinary days, and everything in between. He was loved beyond measure and spent 19 wonderful years as the center of their world.

Just a few days after our filly arrived, Aunt Cynt and Uncle Don had to make the heartbreaking decision to say goodbye to Sammy. The timing felt especially bittersweet — welcoming a new life into the world while mourning the loss of one that had meant so much.

As we searched for the perfect barn name for this filly, we kept coming back to Sammy. It felt like more than a name. It felt like a way to honour a life that brought so much joy, loyalty, and love to the people who loved him most.

So while this little filly may not know the story behind her name, she’ll carry a small piece of it with her wherever she goes.

One of these is prettier than the other… I’ll leave it up to you to guess which. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤣

The old man, Doc Darryl, got some much-needed post relief last night and was a winner on the front end!

Love meeting the old man in the winners circle 🫶🏻

Benny’s checked another milestone off the list! 🥰

Yesterday, Benny got his very first halter fitting and handled it like a little gentleman. He stood quietly while we sized it! ⭐️

Last weekend we had the pleasure of welcoming a great group from 4-H to the farm for a morning spent learning about life in the Standardbred world 🐴

While they were here, they got a behind-the-scenes look at our daily routine — from jogging and feeding to the care and attention that goes into keeping these horses happy and healthy every day.

Of course, one of the highlights was meeting Benny! He loved all the attention, and the group was so excited to grab some photos with him ❤️

A special thank you to Becca Rhynes for reaching out and coordinating the visit — we loved having everyone here!

⭐️ Benny Update - May 24 ⭐️

Prior to our intervention of adding some extra nutrition and protein into Benny’s diet, he didn’t have a whole lot of energy or interest — he was usually content to just lag along behind his mom on the walk in from the paddock.

But over the past few weeks, we’ve really started to notice a change in him. He’s been sticking right by her side with a lot more pep in his step, and today he took it one step further and decided he wanted to be the leader.

It’s been pretty rewarding watching him start to feel stronger, more confident, and show a little more personality every day. 🤍

Nothing beats this time of year — green grass coming in, trees starting to bloom, and the horses finally getting to enjoy more paddock time in the sun. A happy horse roaming the field after a long winter is hard to beat. 🤍

The girls have been training down exceptionally well and, with their first stake not coming up until July, we decided it was the perfect time to kick them out for a 10-day vacation. For the next little bit, their only job is to enjoy the green grass that has finally come around. 🤩

On the left is our first homebred, LivingalittleFancy, and on the right is LivinglikeBeth, full sister to Shekhan.
