Sooooo, I was an unintentionally bad human today. I mistakenly kidnapped this poor defenceless hermit crab who had made this little conch shell his home. This is why if you’re going to collect shells you’d best be as sure as you can that they’re empty, both for your own safety and that of other sea life. I had thought I’d done my due diligence here, but clearly I messed up and this poor little dude had tucked himself DEEP in his home so the big scary human wouldn’t find and eat him. Fortunately most hermit crabs can survive out of the water for short periods so I’m hopeful he’ll make a full recovery.
