A little piece of my heart is in every Binkytown design. 🐰🤍
I realized recently that I haven't really shared enough about what goes into creating Binkytown merchandise — or, more importantly, why I'm creating it in the first place.
Every design starts with a real rabbit. A personality. A photo. A little quirk or expression that makes that rabbit them.
From there, I spend a lot of time developing the idea, choosing the wording, refining the look, correcting details, adjusting colours and layouts, creating mockups and making sure the finished piece actually feels like Binkytown.
I do use technology, including AI-assisted tools, as part of that process. I understand completely that not everyone will choose to purchase AI-assisted artwork, and everyone is entitled to their own preferences.
What I don't believe is that using a tool erases the thought, care, creativity or heart behind the work.
Binkytown itself came from something much bigger than merchandise.
I wanted to find a way to continue caring for foster rabbits while they wait for their forever homes — and hopefully, as Binkytown grows, be able to help even more of them.
The shirts, bunnyhugs, totes and other products are one part of building something sustainable around that goal.
So when you see a Binkytown design, you're not just seeing a graphic on a shirt.
You're seeing Mochi. Misha. Sebastian. Trinity. Spock. Linus. Gabby. Ralphie. Jenny. And the little personalities that inspired all of it. 🐰
You never have to love every design, every product or every tool I use to create them. But I hope Binkytown will always be a place where different preferences can exist without tearing down the people behind them.
