I guess it's been a minute since I've introduced myself. I'm Mel, the creator of Chaos Flora, the person behind the camera and the flowers.
Gardening started out at a necessity for me, something you did to keep your house looking manicured. From that grew a love (or mild obsession) with different plants and playing around with garden design. Now I'm not going to lie, I did not have a natural green thumb. I've killed many plants and I've ripped apart and rearranged gardens to many times to count. From the mistakes I've grown and evolved and learned that it's okay to sometimes just start a thing and see where it goes. No fuss, no attachment to the end result just enjoying the journey. This eventually lead me down the road of cut flower gardening, and what started as "I wonder how much I can grow" on a whim, last summer morphed into a flower business.

This first season has been such a cool and enlightening experience for me. I've had so much fun sharing my love of flowers and gardening, while yelling from the rooftops that flower arrangement can be whatever we want them to be, there's no one set of rules and sometimes the most wild of bouquets can be the most magical.
I'm not traditional in my flower arranging or gardening and it works for me. That is the essence of Chaos Flora.

A snapshot of putting together weekly subscription orders. Not shown: me panicking when I found a sunflowers shedding it's petals and having to redo an entire arrangement.

It's one of my favorite times of the week, when I get to share my flowers that are blooming currently and say hello to everyone.
