As you and your family sit down to plates full of fresh, good food, say a special thank you to the farming families of the Holland Marsh.

All of us here at HMGA give thanks this year to those that fill our plates with fresh, good food and for the rich black muck where they come from.

Happy Thanksgiving! 🥕🧅🫜

Farmers love rain ☔️ 🥕
But it was hot and sunny just one week ago when we all came together to celebrate CarrotFest and the incredible work our farmers do for you and your families.

Our sincere thanks to the many volunteers, the Town of BWG , our sponsors, and all who stopped by to say hello and show appreciation for local farmers. Your support means so much to our agricultural community.

Since then, farmers have been tending crops, monitoring conditions, and continuing to harvest the fresh, nutritious food that finds its way to tables across Ontario and beyond.

From all of us at the Holland Marsh Growers’ Association, thank you for supporting local agriculture. Thank you to Ontario’s Minister of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness, Trevor Jones and local Member of Parliament, Scot Davidson for your help kicking off the biggest CarrotFest yet. And to our farmers, thank you for your dedication, resilience, and commitment to feeding our communities.

Here’s to a healthy harvest season ahead!

Nice shirt! 🥕
Everyone noticed the carrot shirts our team wore for this year’s CarrotFest but did you hear what our President of the Board, Brandon Scholten from Korag Farms, had to say as he opened the biggest weekend of the year in Town of BWG ?
As the saying goes: if you ate today, thank a farmer!

This is who we are…
We are so proud of Bradford’s agricultural beginnings and how people far and wide come to CarrotFest to embrace the significance of the Holland Marsh to our community.

For us, CarrotFest comes during the harvest, when we have worried about the conditions and worked the land from sun up to sundown for many months - for years if you think of how many generations of farmers came before us.

Thank you to Ontario’s Minister Trevor Jones and Member of Parliament for New Tecumseth-Gwillimbury, Scot Davidson for helping local farmer and Chair of our Board Brandon Scholten to kick off this weekend’s celebrations! 🥕🧅🫜

Our farmers are as cool as… a carrot.

It’s their dedication, hard work, and commitment to the land that’s brings the town, the province, and the country, the fresh, local food that we all enjoy every day.
Carrot Fest is not only a celebration of their harvest; it is a celebration of agriculture, our community, and the important work we do to move Bradford forward together.
This CarrotFest, from the Holland Marsh! 🥕

Everyone is ready for !
Brandon Scholten, the Chair of the Board, from Korag Farms welcomed Scot Davidson to our beloved marsh just in time for the biggest weekend of the year in Bradford.
Look for Brandon, the MP and our carrots in the downtown as we give away bags of locally grown goodness while supplies last Saturday. 🥕🧅🫜

🌱Celebrating 100 Years of Farming in the Holland Marsh! 🌱

For a century, the rich, dark muck soil of the Holland Marsh has nourished Ontario and beyond. This land isn’t just fields—it’s family, tradition, and resilience.
From the pioneers of 1925 to today’s innovative growers, multi-generational farming families have worked tirelessly to bring fresh, local food to your table.
This year, to honouring their legacy, we partnered with Ontario Greenbelt who are also celebrating: 20 years of protecting our environment, agricultural systems and way of life.

We look forward to the next 100 years of feeding communities! 🥕🧅🫜

Merry Christmas to all the Holland Marsh farmers who are able to pause during this busy season to appreciate the simple gifts of family, farm life and of course, food.

Thank you for ensuring our tables - and those around the world - are full of healthy vegetables! 🥕 🧅🫜
