Penny is excited to announce she's in phase 1 labor!🥳

Phase 1 labor is when mom is lining up all of her puppies for their grand entrance. It can last several hours (12-24hrs+), but in the past, it didn't last very long for Penny (she is great at hiding it 😉).
She refused her supper, spent the day nesting and digging, and is now cuddled up on the couch with me.

I'm assuming this will be a very long night for both of us. If puppies don't come during the night, i'm sure we'll welcome them early tomorrow!

Those last few days of pregnancy are more important than people realize ❤️

A dog's pregnancy is roughly 63 days from ovulation. That is a very short period of time when you think about it, so every single day counts.

Puppies can be premature even when they're only a few days early. Being fully formed doesn't necessarily mean they're ready to be born.

Those final days are crucial for their development. A puppy born too early may have trouble breathing, keeping warm, nursing, or maintaining their blood sugar. And sometimes, even with 24/7 care, they just aren't able to susurvive.

That being said, as excited as we are to welcome those sweet babies, sometimes the best thing we can do is be patient and let them cook a little longer!

✨️We are excited to welcome Green collar boy into our program next Sunday the 25th! 💚 We can't wait to pick him up! 🎉 For now, he is without a name(His litter name is Grundy after Grundy lake in Ontario.) Once we secure his wonderful family, they will get that honour. ☺️🏡

Our sweet girl Milly, an F1 Bernedoodle from Penny and Bodhi's last litter!!
She is one of our future mamas, who lives in a guardian home in Nova Scotia!
She is expected to mature right around 38-40lbs and I'm sooooo thrilled!!!!

She is attending puppy school, and look how proud she looks 😍

In a few months, we will start her health testing to find out if she can be added to our program! Her sister Blue from a previous litter passed with flying colors so we are very hopeful 🙏

✨️Do you have any P•U•P•P•I•E•S avail@ble?✨️

In the past couple of weeks, I've been asked this question more times than I can count, and received a load of applications as well, so I thought it'd be a good time to let everyone know our future plans!

In the next few months, we will hopefully be welcoming 3 lịtters (2 for sure real soon, the other one will be confirmed in about 2.5-3 weeks).
Our first two will be F1 lịtters leaving in December, and the other one is an F1b lịtter leaving early February.

For now, all 3 lịtters have FULL waiting lists and we couldn't be happier 🫶 (if we have more puppies than anticipated, we MIGHT have spots.. but we also have families on a backup list).

That is a very good question, and one I can't 100% answer at this time unfortunately, just because our future plans are rarely set in stone!

♡ We may postpone one of our planned lịtter arriving in March, to spend time with family (hoping we don't have to skip, but it's a possibility).

♡ Another one may happen in the spring depending when mom goes in heat again. She is young for now, but if she waits a while, we may breed her!

♡ Another brɛɛding we have in mind for summer 2027 can only happen once dad passes all of his health testing (hips/elbows/patellas/heart), so I cannot guarantee anything before we get the results.
..So, you can understand the struggle and why we can never guarantee anything in advance, even though we try our best!

We know for sure we will have more pu•ppies, but we just don't know when exactly yet. If not this spring, it'll be fall 2027. It'll depend on SO many things, including our mamas' health.

I made plenty of little puppy collars today, since we have roughly a week left before we welcome Penny/Bodhi's F1 Bernedoodles!

Penny has slowed down quite a bit in the last few days. She is sleeping a whole lot, and keeping those babies warm for now!

Her food is suddenly not as appealing to her, so we've been feeding her a mix of sardines/veggies/rice, mixed in with some kibbles.. that certainly does the trick and yes, all the other dogs are quite jealous 😅.

Yesterday I shaved her belly and gave her a sanitary trim, as puppies will be able to latch much better and it'll also be much cleaner during delivery as well!

It's been sooo long since we've had puppies!!! Everyone in this house is SO excited to meet these lovebugs!!

✨️ Fun facts about our mama June? ✨️

♡ Her best friend is a 9lb Cockapoo
♡ Her favorite people are kids
♡ She is 95% of the time laying down in the frog position (yes, she has good hips.. she passed her Pennhip and even scored "good" on her OFA finals)
♡ She is a food ADDICT. Not dog food of course.. that's too boring.. human food! She is the fastest Ninja you'll ever meet, when it comes to stealing food, and nothing will ever stop her!
♡ Her favorite place to "sleep" is in the kitchen, where the magic happens (let's be honest, she sleeps with one eye open...)
♡ She is a huge lovebug and lives for snuggles!

She is due in exactly 3 weeks with standard F1 Bernedoodles, and her belly is starting to pop a bit ❤️
We cannot wait to meet her babies😍!!

Gave our puppy room a little facelift, and slowly getting it all organized since we have pupp•ies coming soon!!❤️
