There’s so much value in letting our dogs experience the world alongside us

This past weekend Pawradise and I headed to Mont Tremblant for a little getaway with two of our dogs. From the busy pedestrian village and crowded patios to new sights, sounds, smells and people, they took it all in stride

Confidence isn’t built by keeping our dogs away from the world, it’s built through thoughtful, positive experiences in it. Every outing is an opportunity to practice calmness, engagement, and simply learning that new places are safe and fun

Training isn’t just about perfect sits and stays. It’s about raising dogs that can join us on adventures, adapt to new environments, and enjoy life by our side

These two have come so far in such a short amount of time through intentional, controlled exposure. Not flooding, not forcing, just building confidence one experience at a time.

It’s important to understand that the goal isn’t to eliminate stress completely. The goal is to introduce the right stressors, at the right level, and support the dog through them so they learn they can handle hard things. That’s where real confidence comes from.

Both Oliver and Mabel have been putting in the work individually, learning to regulate themselves and trust the process. Now that foundation is there, we’re starting to carefully integrate it together.

Confidence isn’t built overnight. It’s built through reps, guidance, and doing just enough, not too much.
