Our sweet prince arrived into our care in June after spending time in an outdoor shelter and briefly in a short-term foster home. Now, he’s ready for his next chapter: a forever family who will see his beautiful heart and help his confidence shine! 💛

Fiyero is discovering life in Canada, and every day we see more of the affectionate, devoted companion he is becoming. There is a world of potential behind those sweet eyes—all he needs is someone willing to help him discover it!
Fiyero is a “Velcro dog” in the making. He takes time to build trust, but once you’ve earned it, you become his favourite person. His love is tender, loyal, and wholehearted, and he finds so much comfort in being close to the people he knows. 💕
💜 Life with Fiyero 💜
Fiyero is a gentle, medium-energy pup who loves the simple pleasures: a cozy spot beside you on the couch, following you around the house, and being included in your day. He enjoys little bursts of toy time, but being with his people is his favourite activity!
He looks to his trusted humans for reassurance when something feels unfamiliar. With a patient person by his side, he is learning that new experiences can be safe and rewarding.
Fiyero is crate trained, potty trained, and knows some basic commands. He’s also a clever, highly food-motivated boy who enjoys learning—he picked up “sit” in just half a day! His enthusiasm for treats creates wonderful opportunities to build skills and confidence together. 🐾
At just 1.5 years old, Fiyero still has some puppy-like tendencies! When excited, he may jump up, nibble or “cob” with his front teeth, and mouth during interactions. He’s still learning how to express his enthusiasm politely and will benefit from consistent, gentle redirection and rewards for calm greetings.
Fiyero can also be a little sensitive around his collar and with some handling. His family will need to help him become comfortable with touch through brief, gentle interactions at his pace, rewarding small successes and respecting when he needs a pause. These positive experiences can help build his comfort with everyday handling while creating meaningful moments of trust and connection with his humans. 💛
Another area of growth is becoming comfortable on walks and around everyday sounds. Loud vehicles, the espresso machine, garage doors, and even the television can feel unfamiliar and startling. Busy, high-traffic environments can be overwhelming, so he benefits from quieter surroundings and gradual introductions at a pace he can manage.
With gentle exposure, consistency, and reassurance, Fiyero has already shown that he can grow more comfortable. Each small success helps reveal the capable, trusting boy beneath his uncertainty.

Fiyero really does have the heart of a sweet little prince. When he sees his trusted humans, his happiness shines through in affectionate greetings and an eagerness to be close. 🥹
A warm bed, a familiar routine, and plenty of SNUGGLE TIME mean the world to him. He forms deep bonds and has so much love to share with a family who appreciates his gentle nature.

🐾 Dog Friends 🐾
Fiyero is wonderful with other dogs! He has spent time with pups of different breeds and sizes, plays nicely, and enjoys making furry friends. He does especially well with confident dogs who can help him feel more at ease.
He has also been successfully participating in home visits with other dogs, giving us an encouraging glimpse of how he can blossom in a home environment.
Fiyero could enjoy life with a compatible canine sibling or thrive as the only dog, soaking up the love as your very own king of the castle! 👑
Our rescue team will carefully guide introductions to ensure everyone gets off to the best possible start.

Fiyero will flourish in a calm, quieter home with someone who enjoys having a devoted companion nearby and is home often. An experienced dog owner, ideally with rescue experience, would be a wonderful match for him.

* Applicants must reside in Ontario within a three-hour radius of Aurora, ON.
* All household members must be over the age of 5. Fiyero’s recommended match is a home with respectful children aged 10+.
* Adoption fees range from $800–$1,000 CAD (Fiyero’s specific fee is listed on his Petfinder profile).
