Meet Alexander. 🐷

This little guy has had quite the trip to get here. He was living in Manitoba with a kind woman who was caring for him, and when it was time for him to find a permanent home, one of our wonderful supporters stepped in in a pretty remarkable way.

He flew his plane to Alberta, picked Alexander up, and brought him all the way over the Rockies to us here at The Happy Herd.

After such a long journey, this little pig was understandably a little unsure when he arrived. A few days later, he’s already warming up to us and slowly getting to know Winston. They’re not quite best friends yet, but we’re giving them time. 🐽

We’re so grateful to everyone who helped get Alexander safely here. Our New Arrivals Fund helps us get ready for animals like him, from food and bedding to the everyday care they need while they settle into their new home.

We can’t wait for more of you to meet our newest little pig. 🐖

Meet Clarice, one of the wonderful people who helps keep our days at The Happy Herd running. 💙

Clarice came to Canada from Brazil in 2017 and has been volunteering with us since 2023. Three years later, she still loves being here, spending time with the animals and getting to know all their different personalities.

She says it’s hard to choose a favourite, but Percy has definitely claimed a special place in her heart. 🐐

We’re so grateful for Clarice and the time and care she gives our Herd. Volunteers like her are such an important part of everyday life around here. 🏡

In this latest episode of Legends of Langley, Diane Marsh shares how The Happy Herd Farm Sanctuary began, how it grew into a registered charity, and why creating a safe home for animals became such an important part of her life.

ABOUT LEGENDS OF LANGLEY
Legends of Langley is a podcast about the people who call the Township of Langley home. Each episode, Jay Lundgren sits down with local legends of today and tomorrow: the business builders, athletes, creators, and community voices who give the Township its character. No spin, no canned advice, just real conversations about what we love about the Township and how to keep it thriving for generations to come.
