Kind attention: - Mr. Oskar Farnandez Taranco, Assistant General Secretary of U.N.O for assistance towards giving protection of Minorities in Bangladesh.
We are also drawing attention of the International Human Rights Organizations to come forward to protect the rights of Minority community in Bangladesh.
Anti-minority violence in Bangladesh:
We are concerned regarding religious Freedom. We are deeply concerned about attacks on innocent minorities. The International Crime Tribunals are quite popular in Bangladesh. They have issued verdicts and sentenced majority of the top war criminals. Following the verdicts, activists of Jamaat –e- Islami and Chhatra Shibir attacked the Hindus in different districts of the country. Hindu properties were looted, Hindu Houses were burnt, and temples were desecrated and set on fire.
So that the perpetrators of crimes against the community cannot go unpunished, the Supreme Court of Bangladesh has directed the law enforcing agency to start suo motu investigation into the attacks. Now it is up to the Government of Bangladesh to act authoritatively against those who committed violence against the rights of the minorities.
Chronological Events of violence in Bangladesh after issuing verdicts against Delwar Hossain Sayeedi, Kader Mollah, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad by ICT (International Crime Tribunals) are indicated below:-
