Just a couple of tips to help you bath your dogs at home!

1) For cleaning faces, I often use a tinting brush. It can gently brush around the eyes, nose and mouth and is great for brushing the shampoo under the ears without shampoo going into the ear canal. Some dogs are fussy about their faces, so this is a great way to soothe and calm them.
2) When rinsing, some dogs don’t like the shower effect on their faces. I cover the shower head with a flannel pocket, so the water dribbles rather than sprays. It’s much more comfortable for many dogs.

Happy springtime everyone! Just a quick reminder about home grooming. As the days get longer and slightly warmer, our dogs coats are beginning to change slightly. Lots of dogs that shed - double coats and short coats - will start to shed out, losing their winter coat to make way for a lighter summer coat. Some of us may not notice a big difference until we start vacuuming and seeing the tumbleweeds around! Our non-shedding friends ....alas.....still shed, although it's not as noticeable around the house often. They will shed within the coat and if it is isn't brushed out, the coat will often compact. This is what I'm noticing among the oodles and doodles as well as the thicker double coats. Brushing is the first step. It is a great way to remove that loose undercoat, but, and it's a fair sized but.....if the loose coat isn't combed out afterwards, its amazing how much of it still sits in the coat. My time is really pushed further if I have to brush for 30 mins to remove coat before the bath. If I don't brush before the bath, that loose undercoat compacts and takes even longer. If your dog is a beach-goer and often gets wet, that compact coat may start to mat! So...big ask....please keep on top of brushing AND combing. It's the combing that will make the ultimate difference to keep that coat flowing and will help me keep your dogs in great style 😉Thanks everyone x😘

It’s not often I recommend products, but this Clean Eye by Iv San Bernard has worked really well (that’s saying something from me! 🤭) on quite a few dogs with tear stain build up which has stuck fast. It has worked where soap and conditioner have not… and that’s saying something.

For those of you who have dogs with ‘weepy’ eyes, I do believe that this would help to remove the crusts that build up, by breaking them down and making crusts easy to remove.

I’ve not used it long term or daily on any one particular dog, so I don’t know if it removes the staining that often happens on white and light coloured dogs.

I can’t make pretty hair when clients fall asleep! Then again, if someone played with my hair and massaged me…. I’d probably be in this position too (more modestly of course!! 🤪)
