🐍 Riverina Snake Catcher
📍 Springvale

A tangled situation for this Brown Snake! ✂️🐍

We attended a home in Springvale after a Brown Snake was discovered caught in netting and unable to free itself.

With patience and some careful cutting, we safely removed the netting without harming the snake, before relocating it away from people and buildings. A great outcome for a snake in a tough spot!

⚠️ Loose or discarded netting can entangle snakes and other wildlife, causing serious injuries as they struggle to escape. Please pack away unused netting and regularly check any netting around your property.

If you find a snake tangled in netting, keep your distance, keep children and pets away, and call a snake catcher. Please don’t attempt to cut it free yourself.

🐍 Riverina Snake Catcher – Governors Hill, Gumly Gumly 🐍

A call from a homeowner today after they discovered this Eastern Brown Snake tucked away beside their gate.

The homeowners did exactly the right thing — they kept their distance and maintained a visual on the snake from a safe location until I arrived.

Because they knew exactly where it was, I was able to locate and safely capture the Brown Snake quickly, before relocating it away from the property.

🌿 A quick note about relocation:
When snakes are relocated, I follow the relevant NSW wildlife requirements and licence conditions regarding their release. Snakes aren’t simply taken somewhere and released near another home or populated area — suitable release locations are chosen with both the snake’s welfare and public safety in mind.

If you spot a snake, keep your distance, keep an eye on it only if it is safe to do so, and give me a call.

🐍 DOUBLE TROUBLE IN LAKE ALBERT! 🐍🐍

A backyard clean-up turned into a little more excitement than this Lake Albert homeowner was expecting!

While tidying up around the yard, he spotted what appeared to be an Eastern Brown Snake and quickly gave me a call.

Rather than trying to approach or catch it himself, he did exactly the right thing — kept his distance and maintained eyes on the snake until I arrived.

When I got there, I began checking the area where the snake had been spotted.

I found the Brown…

But then something else caught my eye. 👀

There wasn’t just ONE Eastern Brown Snake hiding in the yard… there were TWO! 🐍🐍

Definitely not the kind of surprise you want while doing a backyard clean-up!

Thankfully, both snakes were safely captured and relocated, and the homeowner was able to get back to the job — hopefully with a little more caution about what might be hiding underneath the next item he moved! 😅

It’s a timely reminder that as the weather warms up, take care when moving timber, sheets of tin, garden materials and other items that have been sitting around the yard.

If you spot a snake, keep your distance, keep an eye on it from somewhere safe and give me a call.

🐍 Riverina Snake Catcher – Mt Austin 🐍

A bit of a scary call-out today for a Brown Snake in a front yard.

The snake was discovered by a 2-year-old child who was simply heading out to pick up a ball. Incredibly, even at such a young age, he was snake aware enough to know something wasn’t right, move away and alert his parents rather than approaching it.

It’s a great reminder of just how important it is to teach children from a young age to never approach or touch a snake and to always get an adult.

We attended shortly after and the Brown Snake was safely captured and relocated away from people. 🐍

With snakes becoming increasingly active in the warmer weather, please keep an eye out around your homes and yards and continue teaching the little ones to be snake aware.

🐍 Riverina Snake Catcher – Boorooma 🐍

Attended a home in Boorooma after the owner was digging in the backyard and came across a Brown Snake.

The owner did exactly the right thing — rather than taking matters into his own hands, he kept his distance and called Riverina Snake Catcher.

After some time and patience, we were able to safely capture the Brown Snake and relocate it away from people and residential areas. 🐍

With the warmer weather well and truly here, snakes are becoming increasingly active. If you come across one, keep a safe distance, keep an eye on it if it is safe to do so, and give me a call.
