This week's confession:

Sometimes the thing that makes your work week run smoother isn't a new vacuum, a better cleaning product or me finally getting the schedule just right…

Sometimes it's just the crew 💙

Lately I've been getting to the end of our days and thinking…
"Hang on. Why did that feel so easy compared to the last few months?" 👀

Everyone knows where we're going.
Everyone knows what they're doing.
The gear somehow makes it back into the ute.
We've had minimal cancellations.
Minimal staff/kids sickness.
We're getting through the day without unnecessary 'challenges'..

And apparently this is what happens when you've got a crew that just works well together 😂👏

As a business owner, you spend so much time trying to be organised, plan the days, change schedules, keep everyone on time, and work out why certain days feel ten times harder than they should.

But sometimes…

the system wasn't the problem 👀😂🤫
That's the confession.

🫧 HOW MUCH CLEANING TIME SHOULD I BOOK? 🫧

I've had alot of enquiries and new bookings over the last week and one of the most common questions i get is “How many hours will I need?”

While every home is different and times will vary slightly, i’ve put together a general guide to the minimum booking time we recommend for a FULL general clean based on the size of your home 🏡

🧹 2–3 bedrooms | 1 bathroom
Approx. 2 hours minimum

🧹 3+ bedrooms | 2 bathrooms
Approx. 2.5 hours minimum

🧹 4+ bedrooms | 2 bathrooms
Approx. 3–3.5 hours minimum
This can vary quite a bit depending on the size and floor plan of the home.

🧹 5+ bedrooms | 2+ bathrooms
Approx. 4 hours minimum

✨ But remember — your clean doesn't have to be all or nothing!

We always tailor our bookings to suit your individual needs, priorities and budget.

If you have a larger home but only want help with the jobs that take the most out of you, that's absolutely ok!

For example, a 3+ bedroom, 2+ bathroom home may only need a 1.5–2 hour booking if you'd like us to focus on:

✨ Or another selection of priority areas

The times above are simply our recommended minimums when you're wanting a full general clean of the home.

Confession #??: The cleaner who disappeared from her own series 😂

Remember these? Because apparently I didn't... 🙃

I started Friday Confessions of a Cleaner because after years of cleaning other people's homes, I have accumulated a ridiculous amount of funny, relatable and sometimes slightly unhinged cleaning confessions.

And then... life happened.

Between running a business, being Mum, juggling appointments, therapies, assessments, staff, clients, school, travelling away for my daughter's assessments and generally trying to keep all the plates spinning... Friday Confessions quietly fell off one of those plates 😂

So today's confession is actually mine:

Sometimes the Multitasking Mum cannot, in fact, multitask ALL the things🤦‍♀️😂

But we're bringing this one back!

Every Friday I'll be sharing another confession from the cleaning world — the things we notice, the things clients confess to us, the cleaning jobs nobody wants to admit they avoid, and probably a few of my own questionable habits too 👀
But don't worry, as always; no names, no identifying photos, no judgement, just honesty that hopefully actually makes you feel a little more understandood 🥰

A lot of people don’t realise that the “Multi” in Multitasking Mum is there for a reason… we’re a multi-service business! 🥰

And one of the services people are often surprised to hear we offer is tip runs & rubbish removal 🚙🗑️

Now, we’re not talking huge house clear-outs or big, heavy furniture — although I can absolutely recommend someone for those jobs!

We’re more your “I forgot to put the bin out", “I just decluttered the house”, “I overhauled the kids’ bedrooms”, “we just moved house and have SO much stuff to get rid of” kind of people 😂

Boxes piling up? Bags of unwanted things? Extra rubbish after a clean-out? Random bits and pieces you’ve been meaning to take to the tip for weeks? Upgraded the kids trampoline and need the old one taken away?

Basically, if I can lift it and it fits in the ute, I’ll take it for you! 🙌

For those smaller loads, we can often be a much more affordable and convenient option than organising a larger rubbish removal service.

So next time you’re staring at a pile thinking “ugh… I really need to do a tip run” — keep Multitasking Mum in mind 🩵
