Is this a record?? 😮
87 years old and had never seen a wild snake!

A lovely little Golden Crowned Snake founds its way inside out of the cold and into a bathroom last night.

An easy catch and was chilling on my warm hand before popping it into my bag.

Warm and dry, a perfect place to hide.

It’s very common for reptiles to find cosy shelter under things large and flat in the garden.

It’s like a big solid electric blanket once warmed by the sun.

So if you are gardening, wear gloves, be cautious and if you need advice. Have my number ready!

Tell me your funniest mistake/ misidentification stories!
I know you’ve had them! 🤣

Snakes, birds, highlighting the wrong thing, mixing up street signs, calling your kids by the wrong name…

OOPSIES!

There’s been plenty of times I’ve waved someone I thought I knew…. And it’s so embarrassing.🙃

For identification, I’ll let you know when I’m wrong, but most of the time I’m right 🤣

Do you know how to ID a marsh snake? 🐍
A quick lesson!

Australian marsh snakes are small, slender snakes with a smooth, glossy body, usually dark olive, brown, or black in colour, and a narrow head.

Look out for those 2 white stripes on the head.
That’s a key that’ll help you ID it nice and quickly!
