Check out these girls as they build a beautiful "blanket" for their babies 😍

As the cooler weather hits stingless bees will create an envelope (that is a mix of wax and resin) to temperature regulate their brood.

This blanket is know as involucrum and you can seen it slowly creeping up and over the edges of their eggs in the video

This European honey bee had gotten into a fight with one of my native bees.

She had stolen some spilt food as I was preparing my internal feeders

As you can see the native bee has bitten onto her tongue and refusing to let go!

A quick intervention and both are safe and sound 😊

As the cooler weather approaches our Austroplebeia australis decrease their brood size.

This time of year they will also cover their brood in a thin layer of involucrum followed by honey stores to keep them insulated like a warm blanket 💙💙🐝🐝

These poor girls had been partially left open and had gotten very wet in the current storms. 😢

They needed a dry home ASAP and are now safe and warm in a dry new box

I didn't get much footage due to the rain that was about to set in.
