🌿 What an absolutely amazing day spent at the Brisbane West Eco Fest! 🐝✨

The atmosphere today was incredible.

This festival is always such a fantastic event for picking up sustainable living tips, checking out local eco-friendly stalls, and truly connecting with the community.

A massive thank you to everyone who stopped by my stall to say hello and learn all about our beautiful, vital native bees!

We recently spent two wonderful days with the team and children at a local Community Kindergarten! 🌸

It was an absolute joy teaching the next generation about the vital role of our native pollinators.

The sessions were filled with fantastic questions, plenty of laughter, and hands-on learning.

To top it off, they now have a beautiful new hive safely settled into their stunning bushland environment.

Ever wondered how bees collect the wax I place on the entry? 🐝

They literally chew the wax right off using their super-strong mandibles!

They then pack it onto their hind legs (into those handy little pollen baskets called corbicula) or carry it straight inside!

I was called out today for a a European honey bee rescue that was close to a school.... right before school pick-up.

Half of the swarm had already fallen from the tree, making it a bit time-sensitive.

I managed to safely collect the fallen bees and the rest of the cluster from the tree above.

A massive thank you to Suzanne for calling a beekeeper!

What a beautiful two days spent at Holland Park Kindergarten! 🌿❤️

It is always such a pleasure to visit amazing centres that truly cherish nature and the environment. Today, we got our hands dirty exploring the wonderful world of bees and planting paper daisies to support our buzzing little friends. 🐝🌸
