Coastal Pet Rescue

Coastal Pet Rescue Coastal Pet Rescue (CPR) is dedicated to helping to save and rebuild the lives of cats, dogs and other small animals in need from various parts of NSW.

Our carers open their doors and hearts to care for animals that would otherwise be euthanised; nursing them back to health so that they can find their fur-ever homes. Each animal in our care receives above standard veterinary care - on time worming and flea prevention and treatment and will go to their forever homes desexed, microchipped and vaccinated. Carers are supported and have access to an a

fter-hours number in case of emergencies, with the animals in their care - or personal. We look after not only our animals but our carers too, something that sets us apart from other organisations. If you are interested in fostering with CPR please enquire through e-mail. An information pack will be sent via e-mail and a home inspection will be required prior to an animal being placed in your care. We are currently looking for carers who can foster cats and dogs.

**Expressions of Interest - Xena & (Miss) Devon Rex**

Back around Christmas 2023, Mistletoe was found drenched from the rain on the Hume Highway as a pathetic little kitten with a devolving injury to her lower lip. Temporarily dubbed “Lip Kitten,” then Mistletoe, and now known as Xena - a name that finally suits her personality - she has grown into a big, solid girl with the gentlest nature. Especially when you see her next to her tiny Devon Rex foster sister!

Xena is a big girl with a gentle nature who loves other cats and has an affinity for dogs. She is still very much a kitten at heart - she loves to climb, play, and spend her days seeking interaction with her person. She’s quiet and reserved with strangers, but with the people she knows.. be prepared to be stuck on the couch for a while, because once she’s on your lap, she overflows and you’re not going anywhere.

Then we have a little miss, who is a Devon Rex. She is an independent girly who, just like Xena, loves other cats and dogs. She is incredibly tolerant - even when play gets a bit rough - and is very submissive and gentle. A very clean girl with a really cool coat, and surprisingly heavy for such a small cat! She can be talkative around dinnertime and when you come home in the afternoons. She’s more confident in her independence than Xena (who would rather be near you than on the chair opposite) and would be okay in a home where someone works during the day - but the moment you sit down, she will be on your lap. She is a little heater and is always warm, despite the lack of coat.

Both girls would do best in homes with another animal and without young children, where the routine is predictable. When you get home, they know the schedule - there will be meows, and if it’s dark, they will lead you straight to the bedroom because the best place is on your lap in bed! The click of the electric blanket on cooler days sends both girls running to bed where they stay put for the night.

Both girls love their food and treats. Wand toys, pieces of string, and interactive toys where you're directly engaged are Xena's favorites. As for the Devon Rex, she likes her scratching posts and has a great time playing independently or chasing after something that you've thrown - she'll swat it around and can entertain herself. They both love the (extra, super duper) cat-proofed balcony and need indoor only homes with a cheeky Devon Rex needing cat savvy parents as someone is a little too interested!

Xena: Fully vetted; desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, on regular parasite prevention. Currently insured (can be transferred to new owner). No pre-existing conditions. Due for yearly vaccination soon. She is a roughly two year old domestic short hair (tabby/torti) and has been in care since about seven weeks of age.

Devon Rex: Initial vet work completed; desexing booked soon. Microchipped, vaccinated. Currently insured (can be transferred). No pre-existing conditions. Purebred Devon Rex (no papers). She is just nearly a year old.

Microchip numbers will be added once PetRegistry login is behaving.

As per usual, we are looking for the right homes, not the first ones. These girls are very loved and their homes will be chosen carefully.

If you're interested, please send a message with a bit about your home, other pets, work schedule, and what you’re looking for in a cat. Both girls are available for adoption together or apart.

UPDATE 23/03: Joobie has found what appears to be her forever home. Thank you for ALL the enquires and for all those who reached out - what a massive response we had! There are so many other dogs just like Joobie waiting to find their forever homes in local shelters/pounds and with other rescues all over. Don't stop looking for the perfect doggo to add to your family - they're out there!

ADOPT ME!!!

Joobie is a sweet, affectionate chocolate toy poodle who loves being part of the family. She is an indoor dog whose favorite place is under the covers having a cuddle.

She is great with kids, other dogs, and cats. She currently lives with a dog around four times her size, as well as cats both smaller and bigger than her. She absolutely loves little people and little hands and is so very gentle!

Joobie would do best with a home that has the time to continue her training and exposure. Daily walks, socialisation, and regular outings will help her keep building confidence and good manners. She is very food motivated and eager to learn, making her a great candidate for continued training.

She has been groomed on multiple occasions and is comfortable with the process. An unfortunate incident involving too many burrs and farmers friends meant she needed a shave down, but her coat will grow back beautifully and be nice and curly again by winter.

She can be a little talkative when unexpected noises happen, but is completely fine with the TV, traffic, sirens, and thunderstorms. She just likes to know what’s going on and to make sure that you know that she knows she is there!

Joobie travels well in the car, is improving daily on lead, and absolutely loves playing in the water. She enjoys playing with larger dogs and thinks she is their size - she can be quite fearless at times!

She would thrive with an active retired person or couple, or a family with older kids who have the time to include her in daily life and continue her development.

She would benefit from another well-trained, older dog to help guide her and reinforce good habits. Alternatively, a home where she is included in daily routines and activities would suit her just as well. Outings are a must as she gets so very excited when she sees that collar and lead come out!

Joobie does spend time home alone, however like most young puppies she can become a little mischievous if she isn’t given appropriate outlets. Providing enrichment (toys, chews, interaction, and routine) keeps her happy and prevents her from finding her own “projects” (and believe me, she will). She is also crate trained.

Joobie is microchipped (991003003351856), desexed, up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick/worming and heartworm prevention and has been vet checked. She is set to go to her forever home!

It’s been a while ~

Just popping in to share a glimpse of these two lovely girls.

A tiny toy poodle with personality plus — confident, playful, and very much a typical puppy who will thrive with someone committed to training. She plays alongside her equally gorgeous Devon Rex companion; calm, curious, and happy to hold her ground.

All vet work is complete for the tiny poodle and council registration is in place. Vet work shortly for little miss catto. Formal adoption posts with full details will follow — for now, we just wanted to say hello and share these two.

More soon ✨

I’ve bitten my tongue for too long. Splitting the time fostering and caring for your very own who suffered catastrophically with life changing moments required a step back with a public break from fostering (we’ve still had a few!).

All those who’ve adopted since April 2016 had their four (or three!) legged friend shaped and moulded into a dog loving creature with boundaries taught from a good dog. The most recent puppies who were a mess and had a lot of work learnt boundaries, respect, independence and socialisation from the very, very best. Gaining confidence in late night beach trips and car rides to vet trips and meeting people. They too found their forever homes.

This is a post about accountability and one where there is none. For I’m one with more knowledge and experience than many with the hundreds who have come in and out, yet something horrific I nearly let happen. A number of animals were seen and treated here and for that I am grateful, but personal animal or foster—it doesn’t matter.

Within the comments is a post i urge you to read. Become aware. Ask questions. Advocate for those who have no voice.

Ready to go and looking fine, this handsome big boy is now ball-less and looking flawless 👌

This chunky brindle boy is recovering from his surgical hernia repair and of course his big-kid op too; the snip ✂️

With nothing but 23kg of 5 month old mastiff/staffy love to give, this handsome very fine boy is looking for a family that he can call his own. A non-barker with a tail that wags for days, a face that smiles non stop alongside some super dooper recall skills, a sideways sit and plop to drop to the ground ingrained into his big noggin, this not-so-little monster will make a great addition to just about any family with a few following requirements:

☀️ a nice, sunny spot outside where all the warm rays can be enjoyed
🏡 a family who is happy enough to have a big boy both inside and out (where he is most happiest!)
🥇 time to continue working on his obedience skills to make him the very best dog that he can be
🐶 another dog (female; desexed) in the family home or frequent trips out to keep those social skills up. His best friend is a 5kg little thing and despite being nearly 20 times he is so incredibly gentle and tolerant!
🎾 lots of balls and toys at home to which he can plop into his mouth at any passing moment. He won’t chew - he’s just there to carry it around and put his face right in yours!
🚶‍♀️ someone who can provide daily walks that vary in pace from super slow to a mild, mild trot.
💪 someone physically able to control a large breed dog as he is not only large but he is also a very, very strong boy
🧠 someone who is breed-savvy as this knucklehead knows what is and what is not good-boy behavior.

Looking for two foster carers on the Coast with another dog who would be interesting in fostering one of two 3 month old puppies. M and F, both fully vaccinated so able to go out. Someone with kids, with time to socialise and have fun until a forever home can be found.

Large breed kiddos, not yet desexed. Good with other dogs and kids, both individual needs. Non barkers and quiet puppies who are very sweet and gentle. Crate trained, boyo doing better with belly bands and figuring out he doesn’t like weeing on himself very quickly ;)

Please get in touch if you’re able to help 🙏

ADOPTED!

Ember and Haze were met over the weekend and were picked up early this morning before their long journey home. They should be at their new home by now with two two legged siblings and a four legged doggo who can’t wait for two new siblings to play for.

I’m sure that Haze is very much rolling his eyes at another dog in the house - and that Ember knows that it doesn’t matter because she’ll be boss (or queen, either or), any which way it goes.

Happy adoption day guys, it certainly has been fun!
