This is where things go wrong for so many dogs.

Noise. Pressure. Unpredictability. And above all no one stepping in soon enough.

My baby is crying because I’m not letting her grab him and I’m right there comforting her while holding that boundary.

But look at him. No tension. No shutdown. No “coping.”
Because he doesn’t have to.

He’s learnt that:
– he won’t be overwhelmed
– I will advocate for him
– he’s safe to relax, even in the chaos

That’s the difference between a dog who tolerates…
and a dog who truly feels safe.

This is Dog & Baby Harmony 🤍

Letting your toddler feed the dog? 🐶👶
Cute… but risky.

It can lead to:
⚠️ Food guarding
⚠️ Snatching or nipping
⚠️ Confusion around boundaries

Clear boundaries = safer kids + calmer dogs ❤️

Not every moment has to be perfectly calm to be safe ✨

Your dog might get excited.
Your baby might get curious.
And you? You’re right there—guiding both 💛

Harmony isn’t about a perfectly behaved dog or a perfectly still baby…
It’s about clear communication, boundaries, and presence.

In this moment:
✔️ Baby is supported and close
✔️ Dog is engaged but supervised
✔️ Parent is calm and in control

That’s what safe, real-life harmony looks like.

Save this if you needed the reminder that you’re doing better than you think 🤍

Easter is beautiful… but it can also be a lot for dogs and little ones 🤍

More people, more noise, strange behaviours, tempting food — it’s the kind of day where even patient dogs can feel overwhelmed.

A few gentle reminders today:
• Chocolate and hot cross buns are dangerous for dogs
• Supervision isn’t optional (even with the “good” family dog)
• Give your dog space to decompress away from the chaos

Harmony isn’t about forcing calm interactions, it’s about creating an environment where both your baby and your dog can feel safe.

Save this as a reminder for today 🐶👶

Your dog doesn’t need to love your baby.
But they won’t feel safe if interactions feel unpredictable or overwhelming.

One of the biggest mistakes I see is letting babies “lead” the relationship — reaching, crawling, grabbing… while the dog is expected to tolerate it.

That’s not how you build trust.

Safety comes first.
And safety means:
✔️ guided interactions
✔️ protected space
✔️ respecting your dog’s pace

For many dogs, shared enjoyment is quiet.
It’s distance.
It’s simply choosing to stay nearby and feel relaxed.

And for some, it takes time — especially once your baby becomes mobile.

It took my@dog@months to want to@come@in the bed near us. The day he did, I almost cried. (The last slide is him and my daughter 10 months into this new life).

Your role isn’t to rush the bond.
It’s to create the conditions where your dog can feel safe enough for that bond to grow.

Your dog doesn’t automatically know how to walk beside a pram.

Without practice, the moving wheels, tight space and one-handed leash handling can feel confusing or exciting for many dogs.

The good news is that practicing during pregnancy goes a long way in preparing for smoother walks once baby arrives. Full how-to coming soon (meanwhile DM me if you need immediate help!)

Save this as a reminder to practice if you’re expecting a baby with a dog. 🐾👶

Many parents only realise this after baby arrives.
Practising walks with baby gear helps your dog learn to stay calm around wheels and walk nicely when you only have one hand.

This was our FIRST attempt with the trike so naturally he showed some signs of stress but for MY reactive dog these are low stress signals, and because I can see them I can make sure we progress at the right pace.

When I became a mother, I learned something firsthand:

Support changes everything.

Not just feeding outcomes.
Not just physical recovery.
But how the whole home feels.

In my work with expecting and new parents, I see so often that resentment toward the dog postpartum isn’t about the dog.

It’s about nervous system overload.
It’s about having no margin left.

When mothers are supported well, they regulate faster.
They cope better.
They soften more easily.

And that ripples outward — to partners, to babies, yes… even to the dog.

So grateful to collaborate on this with 🤍
The way Megan supports mothers creates real steadiness in those early weeks — and there’s space for so many different kinds of support to help families truly thrive.

You’re planning the birth.
You’re packing the hospital bag.
You’re installing the car seat.

But your dog has no idea what’s coming.

Preparation isn’t about control.
It’s about reducing stress before it starts.

✨ Doors to the dog readiness program opens soon.

Every day, we ask our dog to be a little less dog.
Don’t bark.
Don’t pull.
Don’t chew.
Don’t come too close.

Normal, natural dog behaviours are suddenly harder for new parents to empathise with, and yet ones that are reinforced by the arrival of a new baby, new rules, and a nervous system under pressure.
We expect so much of our dogs.

Preparation isn’t about training your dog to “behave”, it starts with understanding what we’re expecting from them and measuring our expectations against their reality.
It’s about understanding. 🤍
