Can you help Apollo find a safe place to call home? 🧡

Apollo’s family is currently facing homelessness, and despite trying friends, Facebook groups and shelters, they haven’t been able to find somewhere for him to go.

He is a gorgeous, gentle and energetic boy who loves to play, especially tug-of-war and chasing games. He knows his basic commands and has a big personality, although he definitely has the willpower of a toddler in a candy store! 😅

Apollo can be anxious and would benefit from someone who has the time, patience and experience to continue working with him. He has made great progress with his previous fear of men, although this is still something his new family will need to be mindful of.

He also guards his food around other dogs, has a high prey drive and is not yet fully house trained. For this reason, Apollo would be best suited to an experienced home where his individual needs can be understood and supported.

His family has been working hard with him, but with their current circumstances, they urgently need help finding Apollo a safe and loving home.

If you can provide Apollo with a home, either as a foster or through adoption, please contact Shania directly at [email protected].

And if you can’t foster or adopt, please share this post. Sometimes the right person is only one share away. 🧡

Not every patient who comes through our doors has fur or four legs. 🦎

This little blue-tongue lizard was brought to us after being found at Sydney Park. Our team assessed him and, unfortunately, radiographs revealed a severe spinal injury.

His injuries were too significant for him to recover, and after assessing his condition, the kindest decision was to let him go peacefully rather than allow him to continue suffering.

While the outcome wasn't the one we hoped for, cases like this are an important part of what we do. Our doors are open to animals who need veterinary care, whether they have a family waiting for them at home or are one of the many native animals that call Sydney home.

If you ever find an injured native animal, please don't try to treat it yourself. Contact a local wildlife rescue organisation or veterinary clinic for advice on what to do next.

We're proud to care for all creatures, big, small, furry, feathered, scaly and everything in between. 🧡

There wasn’t a party at Southern Cross Vet… until Barrels, Poppy and Basil walked through the door! 🎉🐾

They arrived in their party hats, ready to bring a little extra joy to the clinic – and honestly, we’re always happy when our four-legged visitors decide it’s time to celebrate!

At Southern Cross Vet, we love making our clinics happy places for pets. Your dog or cat doesn’t have to visit us only when they need a vet check. They’re always welcome to pop in, say hello to the team, enjoy a few treats, have a wander around and get plenty of cuddles. 🧡

Once your pet walks through our doors, the clinic is theirs to explore. Every nook, every corner and every interesting sniff is part of their little adventure. We love seeing them feel comfortable, confident and right at home with us.

Because, as far as we’re concerned, our patients are the kings and queens of the clinic… and we’re just lucky enough to be part of their world. 👑🐶

Ready to bring your pet in for a visit? Call us on 1300 DOC SAM (1300 362 726) or book an appointment at scvet.com.au/book.

Look at Walter settling in for his stay with us at the Lions Den. 🧡

Before any of our feline guests get settled into their suite, they receive a complimentary health check with our team. It’s just one of the little things we do to make sure everyone is feeling happy and well from the moment they arrive.

While they’re staying with us, our team keeps a close eye on them, making sure they’re eating well, comfortable, getting plenty of cuddles and enjoying supervised playtime when they’re up for it. And of course, there’s plenty of good-quality food to keep those little tummies happy too!

We love getting to know each of the cats who stay with us, and Walter is certainly keeping us entertained already.

If your cat has a stay coming up, give us a call on (02) 9699 3951 to book.
