A New Pillar to support the training at JMac Equitation -
Fitness and cardio work from the ground is a great way to keep horses moving without the added weight of a rider.
Our horse walker provides controlled, low-impact exercise that can support:
✅ General fitness and conditioning✅ Strength, mobility and circulation✅ Horses returning to work after injury✅ Veterinary-guided rehabilitation
Every program is tailored to the individual horse, with their comfort, soundness and wellbeing coming first.
Partnership First. Performance Always.

JMac Equitation – Jason McInnes
I believe horses deserve more than being pushed into a discipline.
I believe every horse deserves to be understood first.
Not dominated.Not forced.Not rushed.
Understood.
I believe the basics are not something you “graduate” from.
The best riders in the world are simply riders who never stopped improving the basics.
Balance.Lightness.Timing.Feel.
I believe horses don’t wake up in the morning trying to be difficult.
When a horse struggles, it is usually because we have not yet explained the question clearly enough.
I believe lunging is not about “taking the fire out of a horse”.
It is a powerful gymnastic tool to develop balance, understanding, and correct movement when done properly.
I believe good horsemanship exists everywhere.
Not just in cities. Not just overseas. And not only inside one discipline.
A good horseman can learn from dressage, working equitation, stock work, classical riding and groundwork — because the horse itself never changes.
I believe expensive lessons do not automatically mean good teaching.
Real knowledge is measured by what your horse becomes, not by what you paid for the lesson.
I believe training should make horses:
• calmer• more balanced• lighter in the hand• more confident in their work
And most importantly…
More willing.
I believe riders should leave a lesson understanding why something works — not just being told what to do.
I believe horsemanship is a journey that never ends.
And I believe the best horse people are the ones still learning.

My name is Jason McInnes.
I have spent more than 25 years working with horses, from starting young horses under saddle with John Lyons, Parelli and Buck Brannaman to studying the Classical French system of training with Philippe Karl.
Through JMac Equitation, I teach riders how to develop horses through balance, timing and feel.
If you want shortcuts, quick fixes, or gimmicks…
I am probably not the trainer for you.
But if you want to truly understand your horse and develop a better partnership together…
I would be happy to help.

IS YOUR HORSE REALLY THE PROBLEM?
Pulling back. Refusing to load. Bucking. Bolting. Spooking. Heavy in the hands. Won’t go forward.
We’re quick to label the horse—but what if the behaviour isn’t the real problem?
A horse can only behave naturally, or behave according to what humans have taught it.
What we call a “problem” may simply be a horse that is afraid, confused or hasn’t yet been given an explanation it understands.
For more than 30 years, I’ve been developing the T.R.U.S.T. Me, T.R.U.S.T. My Horse Process—a humane and practical way to replace fear and confusion with clear communication, confidence and understanding.
Bring me the horse with the perceived problem.
Let’s find out what your horse is really trying to tell you.
One Process. Every Horse.Partnership First. Performance Always.
T.R.U.S.T. the Process. Your horse will love you for it.

🐴 SLOAN IS COMING BACK!
Earlier this year, Sloan spent six weeks with me preparing for the next stage of her education.
We didn’t rush to put a saddle on her and simply “get on.”
Instead, we took the time to help her understand:
✅ The equipment✅ The JMac Process✅ Lunging✅ In-hand work✅ Cavalletti
Together, these form our L.I.C. preparation—Lunging, In-hand and Cavalletti.
This work develops communication, balance, rhythm and confidence before we ask the horse to carry a rider.
Next week, Sloan returns to begin her Education Under Saddle.
Now we’ll discover how well that earlier preparation transfers to the saddle—and, just as importantly, we’ll listen carefully to Sloan’s feedback along the way.
The goal isn’t to “break her in.”
It is to continue shaping her future through calm, clear and thoughtful education.
Because the horse must not be afraid—and the horse must not be confused.
Follow Sloan’s journey over the coming weeks as we share the steps, the progress and the honest moments that are all part of educating a young horse the JMac Way.
Start their future—don’t break it.

YOU’RE NOT LOOKING FOR ANOTHER HORSE TRAINING TRICK
Most horse people I meet aren’t looking for another trick.
They want something much simpler.
They want to enjoy their horse.
They want to feel safe.
They want their horse to understand them.
They want to head down the road, ride at a clinic, enter the arena or simply open the paddock gate without wondering…
“What sort of horse am I going to get today?”
That’s why, over 25+ years of working with horses and people, I’ve developed what I call:
TMTMH — Trust Me, Trust My Horse.
It’s a Process.
Not another collection of exercises.
Not “do this because I said so.”
A Process that gives you somewhere to start, somewhere to go next and something to come back to when things aren't working.
Because ultimately, you’re the one who has to build the partnership with your horse.
My job is simply to show you the way.
The horse must not be afraid. The horse must not be confused.
Everything starts there.
👉 CALL TO ACTION:If you’re tired of guessing what to do next with your horse, message me “TMTMH” and let’s talk about where you and your horse are right now.
