Personal Training For Your Pooch

22/10/2026

Sending out the biggest Thank You too Ashlyn from Blue Lake Vet Clinic 💕

🐶 Ash has attended puppy classes with me for months, learning how we use positive reinforcement training methods and how we set up and run a successful puppy class.

🐶 With her previous training experience and veterinary experience, and of course her love of puppies, she was the perfect person that could take on puppy class while I was on my holiday.

🐶 Thank you SO SO much Ash.

🐾 For your dedication towards helping puppies live their best life.

🐾 Setting new puppy owners up for early success.

🐾 Running two classes while I was away 💕

Your efforts are much appreciated xx

Can Assistance Dogs Improve the Lives of Veterans Living with PTSD?

For some veterans living with post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), everyday activities such as visiting the shops, travelling on public transport or spending time in crowded places can present significant challenges.

Psychiatric assistance dogs are trained to perform tasks that help mitigate the effects of their handler's disability. But what does the research tell us about their effectiveness?

The Australian Department of Veterans' Affairs funded a four year research trial examining the role of psychiatric assistance dogs in supporting veterans with PTSD.

The research explored the benefits of specially trained assistance dogs as an addition to evidence based treatment, including their potential effects on veterans and their carers.

It's an important area of research, particularly as we consider the benefits of human and animal relationships alongside the welfare of the dogs undertaking this work.
