Dr Lucy graduated as a vet from the University of Budapest in 2013.

She worked as a mixed animal vet in Ireland for a couple of years and worked on a stud in the Hunter Valley for the breeding and yearling prep seasons.

After doing the qualification exams to be registered as a vet in Australia, she worked for several different equine and mixed practices before setting up Sunshine Coast Mobile Vets in 2018.

She did her Reiki Master Certification last year which complements acupuncture and regular veterinary interventions beautifully. Her aim is to bridge the gap between western veterinary and holistic healthcare as much as possible.

𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐧 𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐨𝐧 - 𝐀𝐁𝐂 𝐄𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐞
ABC Equine

Helen brings a calm, thoughtful approach to horsemanship, shaped by a lifetime alongside horses and a deep respect for their perspective.

Helen has been horse-obsessed since before she could walk. Growing up in Chantilly, France, she watched racehorses train and just fell in love. After moving to the UK, she began riding at age seven - after years of determined persuasion of her very unhorsey parents.

Helen happily 'begged, borrowed and stole' any horse time she could, finding herself helping with problem ponies and riding anything that came her way. This passion led her to complete a degree in Equine Science in the UK.

Helen later moved to the Netherlands, where she trained and competed in dressage and show jumping, before making Australia home. Here, she discovered a love for cattle sports, including cutting and campdrafting.

Helen’s work today focuses on building confidence, calmness and understanding in both horse and rider.

Through ABC Equine, she supports horses and riders across groundwork, dressage, low-level jumping, cattle work skills, trail-riding confidence and more - always with the wellbeing of both horse and human at heart.

Across the two days of this event, Helen will offer both groundwork and ridden sessions. She will also partner with 𝗦𝗶𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗛𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 combining their approaches through obstacle-based exercises designed to build confidence, understanding and thoughtful partnership for both horse and rider.

Our friends at Sunshine Coast Riding for the Disabled are currently seeking donations of hay to help support their incredible horses.

These horses do such important work - quietly changing lives, building confidence, creating connection and bringing joy to so many people in our community.

If you’re in a position to give back, whether through a bale of hay or helping spread the word, it would be so greatly appreciated.

DONATIONS are needed to buy HAY for our hard working horses at SCRDA... the relentless rain creates less nutrient-dense grass in our paddocks, this means we need to buy in hay... can you help? follow the link to DONATE... https://scrda.org.au/index.php/fund-raisinjg/donate-now

A huge thank you to everyone who came along today to explore your horses’ sensory systems through curiosity and play.

When horses feel safe enough to process their world they become softer, more curious and more confident - making their experience, and in turn our experience with them, more connected and enjoyable.

Plenty of happy snaps of the day.
Well done everyone ☺️☺️

I have a real soft spot for this little mare 💛

She has a few quirks and a couple of areas that can feel a little trickier for her, but she always tries her heart out. Sessions like this are such a nice reminder of how much horses can change when they are given the space to soften in their own time.

This session was especially rewarding, with a significant reduction in reactions through her lumbar area from previous session, and some lovely soft movement flowing through her body by the end. It was great to feel her wiggle out so freely at the end of the session.

Such an absolute sweetheart to work with. Well done!
