A progress post to brighten your day π
This is incredible little lady is Minnie, a 12 y.o. Dachshund cross.
Her owners called BARC three weeks ago quite upset. On the Monday, Minnie had lost the use of her back legs and was planned to be euthanised on the Friday if her condition did not improve.
We promptly saw Minnie for an assessment to determine the severity of her condition and to come up with a plan.
She had sensation in her left leg and a small amount of movement in her right. She could not stand or walk without support.
Kathleen advised that there were no guarantees, but was hopeful that some meaningful recovery may be achieved as we were intervening early.
Minnie has attended BARC twice weekly for three weeks, as well as diligently completing her exercises at home with her owners.
She is still wobbly and occasionally loses her balance, but she is now walking! ππ»
There is still a lot of work to do, but we are thrilled with her progress so far!
Early intervention is vital with these neurological conditions βΌοΈ
We are very grateful to be able to help π
