Mondays are our biggest day of the week when it comes to veg orders! 🥬🥕🥒🫑🍅

While we don’t advertise it too much, we do still offer weekly vegetable hampers to help feed your pigs 🌽

Mondays are all pre-portioned orders. 5 lots of 2 pig pre-portioned packs and one pre-portioned 4 pig pack! Each pig gets 100g of food (so a 2 pig pack would be 200g, 3 pig 300g, etc.)
Each day has a leafy base (either cos lettuce, celery or kale) and two other kinds of veggies or fruit. We rotate through capsicum, cucumber, tomato, carrot, corn, broccoli, rockmelon, watermelon and apple.

Orders are also super customisable! If you’re piggy needs a low calcium/oxalate diet, we replace the kale or if they don’t like a certain vegetable, we’re happy to swap it out.

Most folks opt for weekly subscriptions (price list in photos below), but we also happily offer one off orders too 😊 (you can easily add hay and pellets to this as well!)
Orders are made fresh from Fridays - Mondays. Just message to order 🫑😄

Our veg orders are what kept us afloat financially throughout 2025! Thank you so so much to everyone who relies on us to feed your piggies 🐹 By feeding yours, we can feed ours too!

Ivy is here to sassily wish everyone a very happy new years 🎉

2025 has felt like a really odd year. There’s been some really exciting things, but also a lot of challenges.

We’ve said goodbye to some absolute legends but have had the joy to see others thrive. Bittersweet. Many a treat has been dealt, alongside a lot of vet trips too (less than years prior though, which has been a help). We’re finishing it proud that we’ve made it through.

We hope everyone’s 2025 was brilliant! But if it wasn’t, we hope 2026 is better. Sometimes surviving is the most one can do 🧡

Here’s to 2026 🍾

Ps. To those who have made orders between Christmas and now, keep an eye out on your emails/texts tomorrow! I’ll be following up with everyone in the morning 🌾

Good morning everyone! Would anyone happen to have a dump voucher or two they’d be willing to please throw our way?

After cage cleaning on the weekend, we’ve got a lot of rubbish bags full of dirty woodshavings but are unfortunately out of dump vouchers (thank you very much to the flooding that has required us to rip up flooring and use up our vouchers 🫠 - end of 2025 is wanting to get its last word in)

Or, if folks would like some to sprinkle over their plants to give them some life, let me know!

Merry Christmas from all of us here! 🎄

We hope everyone has a lovely time with family and hopefully some rest too.

We want to say a quick thank you to our Secret Santa’s from the The Guinea Pig Secret Santa Project! We’ve been awful at posting about it this year, but have still been lucky enough to receive many treats, pellets, woodshavings and some funds to help us stock up on some hay. We appreciate it so so much, especially so this time of year when our funds have run very dry.

Once again, have a Merry Christmas and the happiest of New Years! 🎄🥳

Goodbye my sweet boy 💔

We knew there’d be a day where your body couldn’t do it anymore, but I hoped it would never come. Kidney Disease and Osteodystrophy are so cruel - but you didn’t let it dull your sparkle, till tonight. That’s when we knew it was time.

Those who have visited know how much of a legend Pancake was. Never shy, loved cuddles, especially cuddles with food bribes. Trying to not focus on the sadness of the end, but the freaking party we had when you were here.
I don’t know what Nugget and I are going to do without you.

Go see all of our friends over the rainbow bridge. Steal some parsley. Tip over all the water bowls. You deserve it 🌈❤️

I want to say thank you to UPV Jindalee for everything they did to keep Pancake going as long as he did. The odds were against him but my did he thrive - words don’t cover how grateful we are for everything that you do. I also want to say thank you to AES Underwood for seeing Pancake and I tonight, and helping him so peacefully slip away from his pain.

I love you so much my boy. See you in a while 🌈❤️

Hey everyone! It’s been a while since we’ve posted, so I wanted to say hi and give a debrief on what’s been happening.

(Future Grace is reading this and realising it is long, oops. 😅 TLDR: Pigs are okay, just aging and complex. Life stuff means that there won’t be any open days/grooming next year but that means less stress and more time to focus on pigs, online/message orders of pig food and goodies as well as more educational content.)

In general, the pigs are tracking along nicely. We do have an ageing population of piggies now that we’re no longer taking in surrenders. In all honesty, it’s been such a relief not taking on any newbies, despite how hard it is to say no. It’s given us the chance to slow down and focus on the pigs we have here (which is still enough to fill 26 cages!). 🫠
At the moment, and for a while, our focus has been to lay low and focus on the pigs. While that hasn’t been amazing financially, we’re coping as best we can on that front and the pigs are doing well. We did lose Bleasby to a very fast GDV not too long ago. And Otto, our eldest is truly aging, along with Aries. In addition to all of the other piggies and their ailments…but hey. We have a great vet and we know what to do when things go wrong. Couldn’t really ask for more!

In the new year (wild that it is already December), we don’t plan on holding open days. We also don’t plan on offering grooming again for the foreseeable future, I’m so sorry! Life has moved pretty fast this year, and priorities are shifting. The pigs will always be cared for, that’s something that will never drop off. We just won’t be taking on any more, or engaging as much with the more public in-person side of rescue. We will still have our online store and message-to-order options up and running though! So we will continue to have all of the piggy food (hay, veg and pellets) and toys available. Just for contactless pick up or delivery instead.

There’s a fair whack of guilt associated with stepping back but also a lot of relief. Getting to enjoy the pigs again has been so much fun. A break from the doom and gloom is nice 😅
Now that plans are more solid for next year too, things are looking busy, but amazing. As a rescue, we’ll be focusing on the pigs we’ve got, funding their complex care through orders and education. Now there’s less pressure, I’m much more excited about getting back into more social media posts about general pig things - not constant apologies for being full or continuous not-great pig updates. I anticipate there will still be not-great updates in the future, but less and in conjunction with nice, educational, happy content…I hope🤞🏼. Full time uni and teaching is and will continue to be busy, but I’ll be making an effort to stay present in the online space, especially since we’re not doing much of the in-person stuff anymore.

Anyways. That was a long winded update. Sorry!
Overall, just wanted to say hi, the pigs are okay, we’re okay. Things are changing, but for the better I hope! ❤️
Grace x

Overnight Parker made his journey over the bridge 🌈💔
Devastating doesn’t even begin to describe how today feels.

He went in for a routine dental yesterday morning but on admission our vet discovered a heart murmur. He was otherwise well and given his dental condition we decided to go ahead with the procedure. The boy needed to eat!

While the dental itself was okay, the anaesthetic proved tricky. While under, Parker aspirated, struggled to maintain temp, and also lost colour at one stage. In recovery, he ate well but his breathing was up and down. Our vet team did a brilliant job. He was monitored closely, put on heat and oxygen, he had medication to help with aspiration and likely fluid build up around the lungs and heart.
The plan was to go ahead with an echo this morning and make decisions from there. But, in true Parker style, he made that decision for himself.

I know I’m not supposed to have favourites, but he was mine. He was pretty bloody special. I think everyone would agree with that.

Looking after Parker was equal parts stressful and amazing. He was loud, full of sass and not particularly resilient 😅 I’ve lost count of the amount of dentals he’s had, but also the hugs, treats given and head scratches. He was a party at all times. And that’s how we’re going to remember him.

We’re going to miss our emo kid with the biggest personality and vampire teeth to match a heck of a lot. Today is hard, it will be for a while. But I’m proud of him and I hope he’s having fun up there. 🌈

We’ll look after Mia for you, Parker. Go eat a mountain of grass and flirt with some ladies ❤️

Farewell Coco 🌈

We said goodbye to Coco on Thursday. Her lymphoma was progressing and her heart disease was worsening. She was doing incredibly well, until she wasn’t - it all happened quite quickly. The day before we were at the vet as her lumps had grown rapidly within a week, from then we knew there wasn’t much time. Little did we know it would actually be less than 24hrs until we were back at the vet saying goodbye. 😞

Coco was the epitome of a stubborn pig. It was clear that she was going to go when it was her time and that was that. She was dealt with the absolute worst set of cards, yet always seemed to bounce back. She almost died from a dog attack and miraculously recovered despite multiple fractures in her jaw and other bones. Heart disease then almost took her, but she kept fighting (as did we and our vet) and she made a recovery far better than anyone expected. We got a lot of extra time with her and I’m so incredibly thankful for it. Even when she was diagnosed with Lymphoma, she carried on like normal and we got another great couple of months with her.

On Thursday, she took a very rapid downturn. She wasn’t painful, but she was tired and ready to go. In the afternoon, our vet helped her to cross the rainbow bridge 🌈
We knew it was coming, but it certainly didn’t make it any easier. Going to miss her a heck of a lot ❤️

We’ve been keeping pretty quiet these past few months, but we’re doing okay. Well, as okay as we can be. Very busy as usual with lots of pigs to look after.
Some folks have been reaching out about boarding bookings - unfortunately we’re closed to bookings for the rest of the year. But, we are offering some grooming slots at the moment so please message to book.

We hope everyone is keeping well and having a nice weekend ❤️ I’ll work on getting some more updates posted soon.
