Jordan from Jordan’s Reptile Services is one of the many amazing relocators that we work closely with, jump on his page and check out his adventures.
We're so lucky to work with 42 relocators from Rockingham down past Dawesville, and 29 relocators from Rockingham to Fremantle and across to Perth Hills.
If we can't make it to a job, or we know there's a closer relocator that can get there quicker, then we share the job.
There's no competition here, just Reptile relocators, consultants and rehabbers working together and supporting each other to help the animals & assist our communities.
Big hearts saving little lives 💚🐍
Took a call passed on from Medusa Reptile Services a couple weeks ago for this gorgeous very young tiger snake in Anketell.
The home owners had it contained till I could get there and upon arrival I was able to get it straight back out in some dense bushland that wasn’t too far off from where it was found.
Some interesting Tiger Snake facts:
- Tiger snakes are Ovoviviparous, meaning the mother retains the fertilised egg inside her body providing nourishment until they have hatched internally and then gives birth to fully developed live young
- Tiger snakes are the only member of their genus, occurring along most of southern Australia including Tasmania and some offshore islands such as Carnac Island
- Tiger Snakes are listed in the top 10 most venomous snakes on the planet (according to medical testing in mice), however would rather stay completely clear and avoid humans at all costs. All human bites have been caused by provoking the snake (sometimes accidental) causing it to feel threatened. The best way to not get bitten is leave the animal alone or call a snake catcher if needed 🐍
