A sight for sore eyes.
12.5ml in the past 24hrs - doesn't seem like much but with how dry our land is, it's definitely been a very welcome wet. The slow continuous rain yesterday was probably the best introduction we could have asked for. We haven't had "real" storms here for about 9-10 months, I have HEAPS of animals who have never even seen storms! Yesterday helped me prepare birds who weren't quite ready & *hopefully* everyone will be prepared for when the big wets hit us.
Or, I will be out in gumboots in torrential rain pulling birds inside like I seem to do every yr. 🤣🫣
I hope everyone else is benefiting from the rain, hopefully there is a lot more coming!!

These gorgeous girls joined our herd. 😍
Eureka Paradox - dappled
Eureka Premonition - black & tan with frosted ears
Surprise addition was having mum join them!
Chelsea Park Portrait. She is absolutely stunning with such a great personality.
These 3 are in a separate pen while we acclimate them to our dogs.

As much as the goats we've parted with lately have been incredibly sad departures, I am teeing myself up with hopefully an incredible season once we are fully recovered from these fires. Bigger, better & easier stock.
These 3 will be such beautiful pairings with Eureka Andreas - our papered mottled boy.

Thank you to Eureka Anglo Nubian Stud for supplying us with the most incredible goats.
(Ps, she currently has a lovely buckling available that is a direct relation to our Andreas ;))

Another pullet available. So this girlie is available because frankly I cannot remember what she is 🤣🤣🤣
She could be a pure Copper Marans. But I THINK she is a Blue Copper x Lavender Marans. So, to be honest, I don't know.
Regardless, she should lay a darker brown egg. I just can't hang onto her because I cannot guarantee what she was & I can't put her in my breeder pens.
She would be about 10 weeks!

2 laying hens available!

I have decided to part with some girlies earlier than planned.
Feathers are at current a little worse for wear, time away from a male (or with a calmer male - which is what I'm working on!) & they will grow back lovely.

1 splash, her name is Beatrice
1 blue laced red, her name is Edith
& yes you will probably see me recycle these names again. I can't help the granny names always speak to me too much.
My Wyandottes are calm, approachable, lovely birds. Picking up is not something we do, but I've spent plenty of time sitting & admiring this cage so they are used to a weird person watching them.

Both still have TONNES of laying yrs ahead of them, both are only about 1.5yrs!
Splash will be pricier due to lacing being better.
These girls are bottom of my crop in terms of quality hence why they are moving along ;) still a fantastic starting point for another breeder.

This girly is around 9-10 weeks old
Her only downsides - dark legs (could be diet, I've had to cut back on all the expensive extras for the birds after the fire). & she has slight feather shafting.
This girl will more than likely be one of the last Wyandotte pullets for quite a while. At this stage the rest of these pullets are keepers!

These are the last of these breeds offered by me for the rest of the season. They're only available as I had 2 cancelled orders.

This lady was a little wind swept for photos 🤣 but this lovely girl is looking for a new coop.
She is a Gold Laced Wyandotte x Aracauna x Barnevelder. She lays a pink(pink ISH do not expect bright pink 🙃) spotty bloom egg - happy to supply photos once she lays me a fresh egg, she's gone on hiatus the past 2 days, purely to spite me 😆
She is an absolutely gorgeous girl & so inquisitive. She would 100% be a keeper if I wasn't actively trying to thin numbers.
