Lightly raced promising Caelius has qualified himself for The Grand Handicap Final on Melbourne Cup Day after being impressive at his home track Pakenham Synthetic (transferred from Sale) winning by 3.5 lengths with in form jockey Ben Allen in the saddle giving Caelius a classy ride.

The lightly raced son of Pierro since being gelded has really come back in great shape, so congratulations to the loyal patient connections and a terrific job by our team behind the scenes.

Caelius really does appear to be another one of the PGR runners that has come out of there 3 year old season much bigger and stronger and more mature just like Recuperato, Wetumpka, Bajaria in recent times.

Caelius will have one more lead up run before heading to the final on Melbourne Cup.

Blueblood Bajaria wins under a cool ride from leading rider Ben Allen cruised to victory at Kilmore giving the 4yo a confidence boosting win after being very unlucky first up.

She’s building a good consistent record now and the stable looks forward to challenging her in city grade in the coming weeks now that she is maturing and settling better.

Huge stable effort so thanks to everyone behind the scenes for the amazing job in caring for these beautiful horses.

Exciting crop of horses coming together for PGR 🐎🐎💪💪

Great to see the promising Wetumpka return a winner after a good spell and being gelded.

Brilliant patient ride by Ben Allen allowed Wetumpka to settle worse than midfield and upon straightening once the gap appeared he exploded and put the race away in 3 strides winning impressively by 3 lengths.

Congratulations to the winning connections and all the hard working staff.

Wetumpka looks to have a big spring ahead 🤎🤍

Brian Markovic called most of champion Gippsland Trainer Peter Gelagotis successes locally. Peter also trained Rostock to success for Brian so today was a huge thrill to win the race named in his honour and we pay our respects to the family.

Recuperato has had a luckless campaign and it was great to see her bounce back to winning form aided by a superb ride by Ethan Brown.

Huge congratulations to the connections and a huge reward for the PGR Team at Southside Pakenham.

It’s a great way to start the season with a Saturday metro winner on P.B. Lawrence Day 🩷💙🏆
