Brryelis Cattle Dogs is extremely excited to announce our very first AKC litter. Maralyn, our lovely bitch we imported in whelp from Team Kombinalong "Home of the Super Dogs" delivered her pups a few days ago and we’ve spent time since then making sure Momma and babies are healthy and happy.
This birth was an emotional rollercoaster for my whole family. Verrrry long story much shorter..... We ended up at an emergency vet two hours from our home due to complications in labor for Maralyn. Upon arrival, and an xray and ultrasound we got some very disheartening news that the babies not yet born did not seem to be alive and that the C-section she might need to get them out was going to be $$$$ (midnight at an emergency clinic, remember).
Fortunately, Maralyn was able to deliver all but one of them naturally - and ALIVE! - with a little bit of help from Oxytocin. By that time it was about 5 am and I opted to take her back to our regular vet where the last baby was born via c-section. Momma and babies are all doing well and we ended up with 6 beautiful puppies.
In another turn of events, it turns out that we have a unique dual-sired litter. 4 blue pups (one female and 3 males) and 2 reds (one male and one female).
