A little fabric wisdom from Trailz Designs! 🧵
We have had lots of questions lately about where to buy fabric for supply your own fabric for scrub tops, so we thought we’d share a little knowledge with you all!
One thing to remember is that not all fabrics are created equal! 😉 The quality of the base fabric can vary quite a bit between suppliers. For example, we often find that Spotlight fabrics aren’t quite the same quality as those from many independent fabric suppliers.
There are plenty of places to purchase beautiful fabrics, so we thought we’d share some links below to companies that keep woven retail stock on hand ready to purchase.
Our favourite fabric supplier is Fabricitus! Their fabrics are gorgeous, and we love working with them. While most of their fabric is available through pre-orders, they also keep a small selection of retail stock on hand.

Sometimes in the sewing room, things don’t quite go to plan! 🤦🏼‍♀️😂
Every now and then, we discover we haven’t quite got enough fabric for a pattern, and when it’s a specialty print that takes months to arrive, popping out to buy more isn’t exactly an option! 🙈
But sometimes a little change of plan turns into something beautiful! 🥰 We added a coordinating black and white gingham print to finish off this gorgeous little dress, and we think it works perfectly! 🩷🖤
What do you think? We might just have to call this one a happy little sewing accident! 😉✂️

Two beautiful summer dresses are finished and ready to make their way to their new home in Melbourne! 💕✈️

And just a friendly little reminder 🎄it’s definitely NOT too early to start thinking about Christmas scrub tops!
We will also be taking a little sewing room break and will be closed from 1st November until 14th November. So if you’re wanting Christmas scrubs, please don’t leave those orders until the last minute… because we all know how quickly Christmas sneaks up on us! 😂🎄

I, Liza, like to start my day with TWO coffees 😉 because apparently one just isn’t enough! 😂
Tracey, on the other hand, is a tea lover 🍵 but every now and then she’ll join me for a half strength cappuccino ☕️
