🐍🖤 POOL SHED SURPRISE AT ANNA BAY! 🖤🐍

Today, this stunning Red-Bellied Black Snake was relocated from a pool shed in Anna Bay! 🌞💦

Looks like this handsome fella was contemplating a quick dip to cool off… 😂🐍 Mate, the pool might be tempting, but it’s definitely not your personal swimming hole! 🤣

He was discovered by some kids heading in to grab their inflatable pool toys — talk about an unexpected surprise before a swim! 😳

With the warmer weather here, our slithery locals are out and about, so please stay vigilant and always check your surroundings, especially around pool sheds, garden sheds and other cool, sheltered spots.

🚫 Never attempt to catch or handle a snake yourself. Keep your distance, keep the kids and pets safe, and call a licensed snake catcher to handle the situation safely.

With the warmer days rolling in, our slithery locals are starting to make the most of the sunshine — soaking up those rays and getting out and about. 🌿☀️

So keep those eyes peeled, especially around warm, sunny spots… because you never know who might be sunbaking nearby! 😉🐍

MELANOMA AWARENESS — PLEASE DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID!

I want to share something a little personal with my Facebook followers because if this helps even ONE person book a skin check, then sharing my story is worth it. ❤️

For quite some time, I had a mole on my face that had changed in appearance and shape and was constantly itchy.

Did I get it checked?

Nope. 🤦‍♀️

I kept putting off making that simple appointment with my local GP. I thought, "I'm fine. It'll be nothing. I would never get melanoma."

Well... I was wrong.

On Friday, 14th August, I found out that the mole was melanoma — Clark level 2.

It was removed on Tuesday, 18th August.

And I can't help but think about what could have happened if I'd continued putting it off.

My sun damage was done back in my mid-20s. At the time, I didn't think much about it. I was young, I loved the sun and I certainly didn't think that damage from years ago could come back to bite me later in life.

But here I am.

I'm incredibly grateful that I finally got that little mole checked. Another 6–12 months could have meant a very different path for me.

So please, learn from my stupidity. ❤️

☀️ SLIP on a shirt
☀️ SLOP on the sunscreen
☀️ SLAP on a hat
☀️ SLIDE on your sunglasses
☀️ And most importantly, GET YOUR SKIN CHECKED.

If you have a mole or spot that is changing in size, shape, colour or appearance, or one that is itchy, bleeding or just doesn't look right — don't wait. Get it checked.

A skin check is a simple appointment, and early detection can save your life.

I genuinely thought melanoma wouldn't happen to me.

It did.

Please don't make the same mistake I did. ❤️

🐍 ROAD BLOCK… BUT MAKE IT SCALY! 🚧😂

I got called out today for a Diamond Python who had decided the road was the perfect place to stop, soak up the sunshine and cause a little traffic chaos! 🐍☀️🚗

With spring and warmer weather on the way, our reptile friends are starting to get very busy. Mating season is approaching, food is on the menu, and after a quiet winter, there’s plenty of slithering, exploring and generally getting back to business happening. 😜

So please keep an extra eye out when you're driving — especially along roadsides and road shoulders. Our snakes don't exactly understand road rules, give-way signs or the concept of "look both ways before crossing." 😂

If you spot a snake:
❌ Please don't approach it
❌ Don't try to move it yourself
❌ Don't put yourself or other road users at risk

✅ Give it plenty of space and call a licensed snake catcher.

A few seconds of patience can make all the difference to one of our beautiful native reptiles. ❤️🐍

Slow down, keep your eyes peeled and let our scaly locals get where they're going! 🐍
