I have never seen a mushroom such a vibrant purple in colour - don’t worry its not on the dinner menu
A little bit of research and this mushroom appears to be Cortinarius archeri, commonly known as the Purple Emperor. It is native to Australia and typically found growing in eucalyptus woodlands. The species is distinguished by its slimy, bright purple cap and distinctive brown spores on the gills. While visually striking, Cortinarius archeri is considered poisonous and should not be eaten.
