Lace's Dog Grooming

Hello to all of my beloved clients,

I have the unfortunate news to share that I will no longer be dog grooming as of the 29th of October of this year. This decision has not been made lightly.

I have shared with some clients, some of my challenging health conditions, including a heart condition. These conditions have made life in general a lot harder to navigate, but especially the job I do. I have also recently acquired a back injury that is constantly being flared due to my work.

I have made the choice to stop work entirely to try to get on top of my health and focus on my family. I feel a tremendous amount of guilt for doing this but I have to put my health first.

I have already had to cut down on a lot of larger dog clients. I will unfortunately have to cease doing dogs over about 10kg immediately, basically anything that falls in the medium size and above. This is the only way I can ensure that I can work until that October date without completely destroying my back.

I'm sorry but I cannot recommend anyone as a replacement. I don't keep in personal contact with any other local dog groomers.
I completely understand if any clients need to cancel appointments to get in with other groomers.

I am truly very sorry to inconvenience anyone. I love my job and this is causing me great sadness.

​As I’m sure you’re all aware, fuel costs have more than doubled, which has affected costs in many areas of daily life.

​This has led me to raise my prices earlier than the new financial year. I have attached my new price list below.

​If these new prices affect your future appointments, I completely understand if you wish to amend or cancel your bookings. My prices remain more competitive than Petbarn, and provide a premium service delivered straight to your door.

​If you need any clarification on which price or service your dog falls under, feel free to text me.

Hello clients,

On Wednesday, I lost my beloved Grandad John. Some of you will know that he has been sick for some time, as I've had to reschedule work.

Please be patient with me during this time. I am grieving and work is taking a back-seat. I have messages to get back to and appointments to reschedule.

Hello beloved clients!

This is an announcement to let all clients know that I will be having a price rise from the 1st of July 2025.

I haven't raised my prices for two years, but unfortunately, all of my expenses have increased. This forces me to increase my prices as well.

My prices will increase $10 across the board for all services. For example, a Full Groom on a small dog is currently $85. This price will increase to $95.

A reminder of what you get for this cost -

🐶 20 years of experience
🐶 Premium mobile service to your door
🐶 The same groomer each time
🐶 No extra charge for ear cleaning/nail trim/anal gland expression
🐶 One on one service
🐶 No cages
🐶 A professional who truly loves their job and takes pride in their work

These prices are still cheaper than some salons where you have to leave your house, your dog sees a different groomer each time and doesn't build a consistent relationship with them, you have to wait hours to pick up your dog again, dogs can be kept in cages, dogs can be mixed with other dogs and be at risk of fights or illness and extras can be from $5 - $25 per add on.

I can absolutely appreciate that some people may not be able to pay this much and I will not hold it against anyone that wishes to cancel any future appointments. Times are tough.

I look forward to another year of making your babies look and feel beautiful, and I'm so grateful to all of my clients for choosing me.

I'll be honest, I completely forgot to post on Christmas day 😅 so...Merry Christmas!

Anyway, back to work tomorrow!

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time off with my family. It's still school holidays so I will have my kids (Nash and Lavender) with me some days. They both love dogs as much as I do.

I'm still booking out a month or two in advance so it's best to stay at least two bookings in advance. I appreciate all of my clients choosing me to look after their pups grooming needs.

Hey everyone,

It's that time of year that I say that I'm booked out until next year and everyone that hasn't booked, freaks out.

My last few posts did warn everyone about this happening!

I don't often get cancellations as people know they can't get in again so I don't keep a cancellation list.

So unfortunately if you missed out, you'll have to find another groomer until next year.

I will be on holidays from the 20th of December until the 6th of January and that first week back is almost completely booked.

Get ready to be bombarded with xmas themed photos of your dogs over the next couple of months. I love playing with AI backgrounds.

Everyone please meet my new addition to my family, Widow the Rottweiler.

She will be joining me at work sometimes whilst she's little. She's very smoochy so all of my clients are welcome to cover her in kisses.

Henry is a weekly client of mine so I'm sure he and Widow will become great friends.

Hey guys, the weather is warming up, much to my dismay, (summer temperatures in winter is criminal) so that means everyone is trying to book their dogs in. I am now booked out until late September.

I wasn't joking when I said I'll start booking out in advance. When I was mobile previously, I was booked three months in advance at all times and wasn't taking new clients. It's getting that way again.

Please ensure you have future appointments in place, otherwise you will miss out. I rarely get cancellations so it's not really worth asking to be on a cancellation list.
