The New Year is shaping up to be a big one. So much going on already. We are hopefully expecting puppies in February. We are going to be starting puppy pre school and private training sessions are booking up quickly. If you are interested in any of our services, please get in quickly to avoid disappointment.

Don't forget that tonight can be a stressful time for your pets, so please ensure they are kept calm and secure and remember not to praise the wrong behaviour.

Storm season is upon us and for a great deal of dog owners, this can be a very stressful time as our dogs become anxious. Whilst as hard as it is, the worst thing we can do for our dogs is to try and comfort them when they are in this state as we are reinforcing their anxious behaviour. Instead provide a safe, warm and as quiet as possible environment, a snug fitting shirt or a blanket over them can be of some comfort. Try not to talk to them or pat them as again this is confirming an unwanted behaviour. Distraction methods are great, like offering puzzle toys, kongs with their favourite treats and medications should be an absolute last resort. Preparation before storm season is always great, putting on cd's of storms and slowing increasing the volume, banging pots and pans and rewarding a calm behaviour. Most important, please keep your loved pets inside or in an area where they can not get out and escape. Stay safe
