Hi to anyone in the Dubbo equestrian community looking for someone that can help them with their horse both on the ground and ridden.

Just letting you know you have the opportunity for lessons with your horse ⭐️this Friday 18 September⭐️ in Dubbo . I normally reside in the Bathurst area.
Lessons can be given at your own place if within reasonable distance from Dubbo.

If you are looking to find more safety with your horse , to improve your relationship, to understand how to read them more deeply, to find ways of riding where your horse is a willing companion… I am here for you. I have extensive experience including young and difficult horses.

Lessons start at $100 for a 1.5 hr session, with a mileage fee calculated from the central Dubbo.

Feel free to investigate my page, for past reviews, and get a feel for my approach.

If interested please contact me Trina on 0499199808

Here is my pal Stormi… we have been gradually getting her confidence riding in areas away from home.. we are at the Bathurst local pony club grounds and she is taking it in her stride❤️…
…. But remember we didn’t just do this straight away!! The first time we went out, we did lots of matching steps, and helping her stand still and be present… because we took our time and worked at her pace … this type of relaxation becomes readily available ❤️

It has been my absolute pleas to help this boy find more comfort and trust in his trimming process… he wasn’t always like this😉

Again I couldn’t agree more!! I have been recently ploughing through Warwick Schiller's Attuned Horsemanship new video platform that I have been a member of and learning from since 2021.. I was hesitant to have to rewatch all the basics all over again on the new platform but I can’t tell you how valuable it has been ! Blown my mind actually how its the little things that count!!

Headed home from a clinic in Maine this weekend at Chelsea Canedy Horsemanship and Performance at Unexpected Farm.

I had an amazing time, such great participants and their horse, and a great group of curious and open minded spectators.

There were some great changes in horses, but probably none more than the horses professional trainers who were in the clinic. These people train horses all day every day, and are really good at what they do.

So what did I do to have the professionals horses be even better ?

The hard stuff?

No.

The technical stuff?

No.

It was the basics.

It was about being a little more particular about the basics. Not picky. Not pedantic. Just more particular.

Then when then they started doing the bigger stuff, it was better without even working on it.

If that confuses you, think about it this way. Think about going to walk somewhere. If you alter your direction 5 degrees at the start, 10 feet later you’d think you were still on the same path. But 10 miles later you are somewhere completely different than you would be if you hadn’t made that small adjustment.

As the dance saying says “beginning dancers tend to take intermediate lessons, intermediate dancers tend to take advanced lessons, but advanced take beginning lessons”.

Thanks to Chelsea Canedy for all us to use your beautiful facility for the weekend !

An example of whats possible without “training “, just fostering a healthy nervous system in a meaningful relationship ❤️

Little Skylark… learning to feel braver…

In the time between these two little videos.. we did not directly “work on desensitisation “… but instead helped him regularly feel peace in the mindful presence of humans, we helped him become more aware of tension patterns in his body so he could feel in more control , and we were very attentive to helping have a healthy nervous system. As a result… when re visited this excercise, he was much more in control of himself and feeling super confident ❤️

This is well said by Lockie Phillips in acknowledging the passing of Monty Roberts, and Alexandra Kurland and his point about its the magic of the feel of the handler and their attunement with the horse not so much a debate of technique. Its something I try to convey to my students, you can listen and watch what an instructor does in a lesson but every person, every horse and every relationship is unique… its about being in touch with your
own intuition and making the slight adjustments that work for you and your horse..
Let us dance our own Dance, as we learn and grow from those sharing and teaching their own discoveries … we are all in this together and we can be grateful for any lessons shared❤️

I love the simplicity of Warwick’s teaching and his attention to helping the horse control themselves
