The hardest part about owning a Golden Retriever isn’t the shedding … it’s having the courage to put them back in the car after a walk!
Popcorn and Patootie LOVE the freedom of walking off leash, and put it to good use by visiting every puddle, creek and culvert they can.

One of the things we love most about Golden Retrievers is their patience.

They patiently tolerate us when we dress them up, take endless photos, talk to them like they’re people, and let the times between grooming get longer and longer.

And then there are puppies…

Somehow, they tolerate those too.

At some point, every litter stops being tiny, sleepy, adorable fluff balls and starts becoming a pack of tiny land sharks with no respect for personal space. Yet Grandma Pip still lets them climb on her, chew on her ears, steal her bed, and generally treat her like a piece of playground equipment.

Watching a dog put up with increasingly annoying puppies is a pretty good reminder of why this breed has stolen so many hearts. ❤️🐾

It’s always a bittersweet day when our pups start to head home with their new families. We LOVE getting to see the joy and excitement they bring, but saying goodbye to these little cuties is not easy.

Major milestone today for Matilda’s litter as they headed to Delatite vets for their first round of vaccinations, microchipping and health checks.
Of course we stunk out the vets with a few nervous 💩🤮
To add insult to injury pups were wormed and had their nails trimmed when we got home - talk about a big day !

Today, Sookie and Poppet had the privilege of visiting the wonderful residents at Bindaree Retirement Centre. ❤️🐾

These visits are such a great experience for the pups. They get to meet lots of new people, enjoy plenty of pats and cuddles, and experience new environments that help build their confidence and social skills.

Sookie certainly lived up to his name, taking every opportunity to melt into someone’s lap and soak up the attention - or grab a quick nap. Poppet kept everyone entertained with her cheeky smile and playful personality.

Of course, it’s not just the puppies who benefit. The residents adored the visit and it was a great chance to brighten up a wintery day.

A huge thank you to the amazing staff at Bindaree, who went above and beyond to ensure every resident had the opportunity to spend time with the puppies, including those who are unable to come out to communal areas 🐶❤️

Over the next few weeks the pups will be out and about at school, kinder and childcare so they can share the love and receive plenty of cuddles and pats in return
