Knowing how to behave around dogs is an important skill for every child, whether there’s a four-legged friend at home or they simply encounter dogs while out and about.
Schools, OSHCs, Scouts and other community groups across PAE can now book a FREE Paws and Pals dog safety session for primary school-aged children.
Supported by a City of PAE community grant and delivered by experienced Adelaide Sportdog Club instructors, these fun and practical sessions teach children how to:
🐾 safely and appropriately approach dogs
🐾 recognise canine body language and warning signs
🐾 know what to do around unfamiliar dogs
🐾 interact safely with family pets
There’s help from Sparkles the stuffed dog, and an obedience demonstration from an Australian champion and Hollywood movie dog!
Sessions take around 30 to 45 minutes and are available until 5 November, with the team working flexibly with groups to find a suitable time.
The goal is simple: give children practical knowledge and confidence to help them stay safe around dogs and reduce the risk of dog-related incidents in our community.
Bookings are essential, so get your school, OSHC, Scout group or community group involved and book a Paws and Pals session today by emailing [email protected]
