We used PetMoves.com for our fur-family & had Zero problems, great service, everything went smoothly & was stress free.
This was our 4th move internationally, so we had other pet relocation experiences to compare it to, and it was by far the smoothest. We flew into Paris from another country, then over to the UK with Petmoves, so ours had an extra layer of complexity: which they dealt with well.
It was literally the easiest relocation of the fur-family we’ve ever had & they were a huge part of why it was smooth.

PET PASSPORTS
The EU Animal Health Law was adopted in 2016 but only began applying in 2021, with a transition period for pet-movement rules running until 22 April 2026. During that time vets in EU countries like France could issue EU pet passports to animals presented to them, and the requirement that the owner be habitually resident in the EU wasn’t strictly enforced in practice. Many second-home owners used this and it was generally accepted. The 2026 change tightens and clarifies that EU pet passports are intended only for pets linked to EU-resident owners, so what’s now described as a “loophole” wasn’t illegal before - it was allowed under the transition period.
Regulation (EU) No 576/2013 remains the governing law for pet travel until 21 April 2026, marking the end of the legal transition period for UK-issued EU pet passports. From 22 April 2026, UK residents can no longer use EU pet passports for travel to the EU, necessitating an Animal Health Certificate (AHC).
Until the new rules take effect on 22 April 2026, that system continues to apply under the transitional legal arrangement, meaning there was no retroactive illegality attached to having or using those passports during that time.

I recently moved from France to London for work, and one of my biggest worries was figuring out how to bring my cat with me safely and comfortably. After living in Europe for years, I knew that the UK’s strict flight rules—especially the fact that pets can’t travel in-cabin on your lap and must go through cargo—were going to be a major issue. I absolutely didn’t want my cat to experience any kind of trauma or discomfort, so cargo was not an option for us.

I searched extensively for alternatives, and that’s when I found Pet Moves. I don’t have a car, so their private pet transport service seemed perfect. Barry and Edward are experienced with both animal handling and navigating the Eurotunnel, which gave me so much peace of mind. Their vehicle was well-equipped with everything needed for pet care, and they truly thought of every detail.

Edward picked us up directly from Paris airport and drove us all the way to my doorstep in London. Throughout the entire journey, he was incredibly kind, polite, and reassuring. Edward even helped clean my cat and handled him with such gentleness that it really touched me—his calm and caring attitude made the whole experience so much easier and happier. We were very impressed with how gently he handled my cat- which is what every pet owner hopes for their fur babies. I am always going to choose to travel with Edward and pet Moves after this wonderful experience.

Barry guided me through the entire process and paperwork needed. He was always available to politely answer all my questions which I really appreciate. I can’t thank Barry and Edward enough for making what could have been a stressful and emotional journey feel smooth, safe, and comfortable. I felt very reassured and stress-free knowing that my pet was travelling with good safe hands and with a team that are equally fond of pets and are compassionate towards them. Pet Moves genuinely exceeded my expectations, and I would highly recommend them to anyone needing to transport their beloved pet to the UK. Thank you so much Barry and Edward for creating such a wonderful service for us!
