Last Sunday, we headed to the NSW State Waler Championships. We only had a few rides under our belt leading up to the show and im grateful that Kali did not protest about the situation. Thank you to the other committee members for organising and running the show. Our judge Liane Walters who was fabulous with both horses and riders/ handlers and of course our sponsors.

Maddie and Kali finished with:
= 1st youth handler led class
2nd youth handler led versatile Waler

Kali and I finished up with:

= 3rd best presented over 4
2nd led waler mare over 4
2nd adult handler led
1st led pair of progeny
1st ridden waler mare
Championship ridden waler
2nd show hunter hack
2nd working hunter ( heaven forbid she had to lift her feet)
Reserve champion hunter
2nd lady rider
Reserve champion rider
2nd adult led versatile waler

Reminding Kali what being a domesticated pony is all about. I think she looks pretty worried not! Once she has her pedicure tomorrow, it will be put the brave girl pants on and get on.

Yesterday Anzac You Am I (Kali) and I headed to Young for the NSW State Waler Championships.

After Kali basically had 12 months off and only 1 ride a week since mid January (I am sure she would have happily continued on with life as a paddock ornamnet), I am pretty happy with our results. Kali had a moment in her first ridden class where she decided her back feet were better in the air a few times than on the ground. We worked through it and ended up with some good results.

Some goals to work on for next year but as always a nice relaxed supportive show to go to.

An amazing Mare for sale. A full sister to Kali, ( Anzac you am i), although you would not pick it. It is not often that a waler with this amount of work and experience comes up for sale.
