‘Can you groom my dog please?

She hates being groomed, bathed, brushed and her nails being clipped. Her coat is matted but I don’t want her cut short. And keep her teddy bear face.

Oh and I need to collect her in 1 hr and I only want to pay $70 thank you.’ 😖😩😣

🤩 LET US TALK ABOUT GROOMING

Did you know ⁉️
• Grooming is hard work. Physically & mentally challenging.
• You can’t (shouldn’t) clip an unwashed dog.
• We double & sometimes triple wash your dog.
• We condition your dog.
• We can’t (shouldn’t) start clipping your dog until they are COMPLETELY dried.
• Your dog must be brushed and a fine comb must pass thru the coat all over before we can start clipping.
• We clip your dogs nails and file them if we can. This is usually the most challenging job of all. Many dogs have a fear of their feet being touched. This task it self can take 15 mins or more!
• We carefully shave around your dog’s paws, between the pads and toes.
• We must stop for cuddles & treats regularly.
• To pluck or not to pluck - ear hair! We carefully clean inside your dogs ears. Sometimes we have no choice but to remove the inner hair if it’s growing down inside the ear.

This is a little about what your dog and your groomer (me!) goes thru for each and every dog.

Sometimes your groom may cost more than other months. Matted hair, biting dogs or extra treatments needed may prolong your appointment time & a surcharge may be added. If you choose to keep your dog with longer hair the drying time will be far longer so your groom may be dearer than a dog who clipped shorter regualry.

Booking in advance ensures a regular visit & reduces the likelihood of matting.
(Sometimes a reminder to your groomer is needed to ensure you’re booked in advance 🤣)

Brushing between visits is the biggest help you can give your pup and groomer. It’s not comfortable trying to brush or clip thru matting.

Grooming as a profession requires love and patience, skill, dedication and the use of quality equipment and products.

Please remember how much care and attention goes into each and everyone of our dogs.

Yesterday I got the absolute pleasure to de shed & pamper Hoover the PTSD Service Dog.

Hoover spent the entire time wagging his big tail and giving kisses when I wasn’t looking.
