Same family. Same outing. Slightly different travel arrangements. 😂🤎

The younger sibling is quite happy stretching their legs.

Meanwhile, the older sibling has opted for a rather comfortable ride in the dog pram.

First class, apparently. 😂

I love that these two can still enjoy an outing together, even though they don’t necessarily need the same things.

One gets to walk and investigate the world at their own pace.

The other gets to come along for the adventure without having to do quite so much walking.

And that’s the lovely thing about caring for animals as individuals.

Even when they’re from the same family, what works beautifully for one might not be what the other needs.

There’s room for both.

Although I must say, the pram passenger seems to have a pretty good arrangement going. 😂🤎

Someone’s got places to be. 😂🤎

And today’s destination?

The beach! 💦

A little car ride, some fresh sea air and a chance to enjoy a good swim.

Not a bad way to spend part of a Posh Paws staycation.

I love getting to know what makes each of my furry clients happy.

For some, it’s their favourite enrichment puzzle or a good game of fetch.

For others, nothing quite compares to getting out and enjoying a swim.

And when a beach adventure is something they love, it’s lovely being able to make time for it.

Of course, there’s always the important business of heading home afterwards, getting comfortable and enjoying a well-earned rest.

It’s a tough life being a Posh Paws client, apparently. 😂🤎

Sweet Chloe. 15 years young. 🤎

Chloe is living with dementia, which means some of her familiar everyday routines need a little extra support these days.

Like remembering it’s time to pop outside for a toilet break.

So we have our little conversations.

I gently remind her, give her some encouragement and let her take her time.

And I’ve discovered that the promise of a little chicken treat can be rather persuasive too. 😂

Because Chloe might need a reminder about going outside, but she certainly knows when there’s chicken involved!

I have such a soft spot for my senior furry clients.

They’ve each got their own personalities, their own ways of doing things and routines they’ve known for years.

And when those routines become a little harder to navigate, it’s important that we adapt how we care for them.

With Chloe, that means patience, gentle reminders and allowing her to move at her own pace.

She’s still sweet Chloe, with her own little ways.

And if getting outside takes us a bit longer these days, that’s perfectly alright.

We’ve got time, sweetheart.

And yes, Chloe, I’ve got your chicken. 😂🤎

Well, Diesel has found a rather creative way to get my attention. 😂🤎

Apparently, bringing a toy outside wasn’t going to make quite the statement he had in mind.

Nope.

Diesel decided the house blanket was coming outside instead.

And there he was, looking rather pleased with himself, making it fairly clear that my participation in playtime was required.

Honestly, I love the funny little ways dogs let you know what they’re after.

Some bring you their favourite toy.

Some give you that very particular look.

And then there’s Diesel, who apparently believes the household furnishings are perfectly acceptable play equipment. 😂

He’s such a character, and these are the little things I love getting to know about my furry clients.

Although I’m not entirely sure the blanket signed up for outdoor adventures.

Diesel clearly had other ideas. 😂🤎

Max has a very important appointment today.

With his favourite chew. 😂🤎

And judging by how happily he’s settled in, I don’t think he’d appreciate being disturbed.

I love these little moments.

Max is in his own home, enjoying one of his favourite things, and I’m nearby keeping him company while he gets on with the very serious business of chewing.

No need to entertain him every second or fill the day with activities.

Sometimes the nicest thing I can do is simply let him enjoy what he’s doing.

That’s one of the things I love about caring for animals in their own homes.

Getting to know what they enjoy, what makes them comfortable and when they’re perfectly happy just doing their own thing.

And Max?

Well, he’s made this afternoons priorities very clear.

The chew comes first. Donna can wait. 😂🤎

Ellie has a very particular way of cooling down after a game of fetch. 😂💦

First, we play with her favourite toy inside.

Then, when she’s decided she’s had enough running around, it’s straight over to her water tray.

In go the little feet.

A bit of splashing.

And apparently, that’s how we do things around here. 😂

Honestly, I love this about Ellie.

She’s got her favourite game, her own little routine afterwards, and absolutely no need for anyone to explain how things should be done.

I just make sure her water tray is ready for the post-fetch foot spa.

Because once you know Ellie, you know that’s part of the arrangement. 🤎

Sometimes the Posh Paws agenda is very simple. 🤎

Find a comfy spot beside Donna.

Roll over.

Enjoy a belly rub.

And make absolutely no attempt to move until the belly-rubbing department has finished its shift. 😂

I love these quiet little moments just as much as all the games, adventures and enrichment activities.

Because not every part of a staycation needs to be exciting.

Sometimes it’s just about being comfortable in your own home, enjoying a bit of company and having someone around who’s more than happy to keep the belly rubs coming.

And really, I can’t complain about that part of my job. 🤎

A little peek at some of the things our furry clients get up to during a Posh Paws staycation. 🤎

There are puzzles to work out, snuffle balls to investigate and LickiMats to enjoy.

Then, of course, there are the very important puppuccino appointments. 😂

A few treats here and there, a game of indoor fetch and, when all that excitement is over, a nice comfy spot on the couch for some snuggles.

It’s a tough life, apparently.

One of my favourite things is getting to know what each animal really enjoys.

Some love figuring things out. Some would happily play fetch all afternoon. Others are very committed to the snack department.

And there are always a few who consider having me sit beside them on the couch an essential part of the arrangement. 😂

Every stay is a little different because every furry client is different.

And that’s exactly how I like it. 🤎

Someone’s having a very good day.

Actually, make that two someones. 😂💦

Phoenix and Ember absolutely LOVE playing with the hose.

Although, as much as Phoenix wants to join in, Ember does have a habit of taking over the whole operation. 😂

Poor Phoenix is keen to get amongst it, but Ember seems fairly convinced that the water is all for her.

Honestly, I could stand there with that hose all day and I don’t think they’d ever get tired of it.

I love their funny little personalities and the things that get them so excited.

Same favourite game. Two very different approaches.

And one very enthusiastic Ember. 😂🤎

She knows exactly where dinner happens. 😂🤎

As soon as it’s time to eat, off she goes to her usual spot.

No directions needed. She’s got this part of the day well and truly sorted.

I love these little routines, especially with my senior furry clients.

The familiar places. The way they know what comes next. The everyday things that are simply part of life in their own home.

And while I’m there to help with the practical bits, I don’t need to change the things that are already working beautifully for them.

Dinner still happens in her spot.

Just as she knows it should. 🤎

It’s her home, after all.
