"At 8:46 there was a t-***st action..." Today we mark 25 years since the tragic world-changing events of 9/11. Everyone remembers where they were, what they were doing or how they felt when they found out what was happening. We were blessed to go and see the memorial while we were in NYC on our Cruise. It is a lovely place for reflection, learning and coming to grips with the events of that day. Kate was excited to find that she could even recognise the characters on the memorial walls by feel. May they rest easy, their families and friends have comfort in this place and the world always remember what happened on that horrible day. ber

After 114 days, 40 ports, 26 countries, a cruise shared with 1400 people on a ship with capacity of 3000 people and 1400 staff, we are back home. There are still more photos to come from some other ports that we visited but here is Sydney Harbour Bridge as we pulled back into Australia yesterday morning. We will travel home by train tonight and be reunited with our families tomorrow. It has been such an amazing experience, one which we will remember forever.

Sorry I’ve fallen so far behind on posts everybody, I’ve been very busy. Sadly, our last stop in Easter Island didn’t happen because of inclement weather but here is a view from the island taken from our balcony in the early morning. Next, Tahiti. I’m working through the photographs and will slowly get back to posting the photos from South America.

This is Stanley welcoming us to Saguenay, Quebec province, Canada.
We visited three places in Saguenay. This is a photograph of the whale we watched a glass blower making. It was a very interesting process and the work is very fine and detailed. We also visited a cheese factory and an alpaca farm. I got to feed an alpaca and bought a very soft bear made from alpacka wool.

Stanley was MIA in Quebec, but here is a photo of Château Frontenac, the very famous hotel in Quebec city. It is at this beautiful hotel where we had a very delicious high tea.
The other photo is a facade of some buildings in Quebec city. The staircase is the only way of getting from street level to the houses. They are built into the hill and it is very high. We actually went on a fun fanicula to get up to the Château Frontenac.
Further to my photos from our first day in Quebec City: This is a photo of our three tier afternoon tea selection at the Chateau Fronenac and our second day in Quebec when we went to an indigenous village called Wendake. The lady in the photo is dressed in traditional clothes and was our guide for the tour. we learned quite a lot about the Wendake community and their customs and traditions.
