Spring has sprung in Australia, and that means the snakes and lizards are coming out of brumation to feed and mate!

Unfortunately, I also heard about a lot of closed-minded people seeing a snake and killing it.

I'm posting right now to tell you all that killing snakes is unnecessary and incredibly dangerous.
For one, a Snake isn't going to seek out a human to bite. A venomous snake will not want to waste venom on something it can't eat, a venomous snake will only bite a human in defence. Whether you're actively trying to kill it, or you've spooked it, they ONLY bite a human to defend themselves.
Many people get bitten because they're trying to catch or kill a snake.
Many men get bitten on the face because they're too busy trying to take a selfie with it 🤦🏽‍♀️

If you leave a snake alone, it will leave you alone.
If you have a snake in your yard or house that you want removed, call a local licenced snake catcher to remove it.
Yes, snake Catchers can be pricey, but you are paying for the education they've received, their gear, the fuel to cover travel, Insurance. None of these things for a snake catcher are cheap.

So, be a decent human being and call the damn snake catcher. Don't be a crappy one that kills snakes. There is NO reason for it whatsoever.

It is also illegal to kill native fauna (in this specificity: reptiles).

New South Wales: Penalties can reach up to a $10,000 fine and/or 10 years in prison for harming protected fauna without a license.

So, I've been quiet for a few days, ive been extra busy.

We're in the process of building a rack for the rodents!
The frame is built, now for the tedious job of putting the wire on it so we dont have any escapees.

We also have Alexandrine eggs!

For those of you that don't know, Honey had a bit of a rocky start with us, she was underfed, undersized and under-hydrated.
Every shed was a nightmare, warm soaks all the time, hunting through her enclosure for all of the shed skin, frustration from having to soak her to get all of the shed off her skin.

Now, it seems we have her in a really good place in her health, I was so excited when I looked in her enclosure this morning and saw a COMPLETE shed from her.
