Do you always need to have a snake removed?…..
No..
However, every person is different and every circumstance is different.
If you are wanting a snake removed, we will happily come and collect it. We love snakes so you don’t have to, however, we do ask that you respect them enough not to harm them.
We are here to help, even if it’s just a phone call or a text to identify your uninvited guest.
Here are some helpful tips in the event you do want us to come out to you;
1. Keep an eye on the snake from a safe distance.
This gives us the best chance to successfully locate and remove that snake for you. If the snake was sighted outside and you then go inside, the snake will naturally flee and disappear.
2. If it’s inside, remove yourself from the room and isolate the snake.
You can do this by closing doors to the room you saw it in and putting a rolled up towel or blanket along the bottom of the door to close the gap underneath.
3. Is the snake exposed in an open area?
It will be more inclined to be defensive and reactive to movement in this situation, so it’s really important to keep a safe distance away. It’ll also likely want to look for somewhere to hide, so giving it plenty of space while watching where it goes to hide.
4. NEVER put yourself or anyone else at risk of a bite just to keep watch.
If it’s not safe, then that’s just how it is, we conduct a thorough search of the area on arrival based on the location of the initial sighting and our knowledge of snake behaviour. If it’s gone when we arrive, then it’s gone and that is always a possibility when dealing with snakes. They can disappear very quickly, this is how they’ve lived around you for so long and remained unnoticed up to that point.
