Mick and Kay Harris of Mick Harris Automotive in Dubbo have been ongoing supporters of the Dubbo Black Dog Ride (plus our Mechanic) for many years. Never a question regarding sponsorship - just support all the way. 🙏

They've had a dreadful string of events occur, culminating in their business being firebombed this week - obviously impacting their business significantly. So wrong.

Please share this post in support of them. Someone may just know something or have some footage. Thank you.

After finding ourselves in the wonderful predicament of having more volunteers than high-vis volunteer vests, Dubbo Black Dog Ride approached Totally Workwear Dubbo, who generously sponsored the full cost of 12 new printed vests (valued at around $450). We're so very grateful.

Please support those who support our work within the community.
You'll find them at 100 Erskine Street in Dubbo, or via phone on (02) 6882 8011.

We have been working on a few things recently to help make our volunteers (and our own) lives a little easier at set-up and pack-down times.

We have been fortunate to have been donated an iTechworld PS1800PRO Portable Lithium Power Station to inflate our Big Winston. We had sought out one of these to eliminate the heavy, smelly portable generator and fuel required to run the blower if a power point wasn't handy.

We approached iTechWorld with the thought of a discount, but were extremely happy when they said they would donate the unit to us due to our work in the community.

We let Winston out of the box this morning for a while and within 90 seconds he was up & ready to rock. The PS1800 would run him 24/7 for up to 5 days without recharge. It also shows how much charge is left and how much power you are using.

Thank You to iTechWorld for your generous support and kind words regarding our efforts at raising awareness of depression and su***de prevention.

A message and invite from one of our Mental Health Partners;

Dubbo Safe Haven would like to invite family members, friends, and carers who are supporting someone experiencing suicidal distress or following a su***de attempt to attend the Minds Together program.

Minds Together is designed to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and self-care strategies needed to better support someone experiencing suicidal distress or following a su***de attempt, while also maintaining their own wellbeing – Everymind Australia.

The program will be delivered face-to-face by Senior Peer Workers Lindal Brown and Amy Powyer.

It will run over three consecutive weekly sessions, each of two hours’ duration, commencing Tuesday 14 April 2026 from 10:30am to 12:30pm.
Location: 2/29 Church Street, Dubbo.

Please note that group sizes are intentionally kept small to allow for more tailored discussions. For those who are interested but unable to secure a place, we welcome expressions of interest and will aim to offer additional sessions in the future.

To register or for further information, please contact Amy on 0436 850 152.
